I recently bought a sanyo mm-7400 cell phone with sprint service. I found this data cable that says you can get high speed internet on your computer through the use of the cell phone. I have unlimited web access with my service plan. Question: will I be able to use the keyboard and rat or will I be stuck using the phone's keypad to navigate and stuff. link to the cable: Data cable |

With that set up, you should be able to access the internet on your computer, through your phone. Most likely it woudl use a minute of airtime for each minute of internet that you use the phone for. The web that you can get directly on the phone is an entirely different animal. |

Only if you already pay for that service (GPRS?) through your wireless provider. Go to www.howardforums.com It's the Arfcom of cell phones. |

If you have the optional U$15 'PCS Vision Pictures Pack' then you can use the data cable to access the web. You also need the software drivers for your phone. Then it acts just like a modem. The phone dials #777 and connects to the Sprint Data Network. I connect at about 128bps (twice as fast as dialup). Airtime is unlimited for Vision although plugging the phone into a laptop is technically a violation of the TOS. Sprint doesn't like it if you download Gigs of stuff. I ran up to about 100Meg per day for a week and never got into trouble. Fritz |
Actually fritz you can set the connection speed higher. I connect at 230.4 and speed right along on my laptop..... even while surfing this slow site! ![]() OKIE: If you have the unlimited web access then you only pay the $15 per month fee and you can be connected to the internet forever with NO extra charges. |

Ok im not sure if this applies to your phone. I have a nokia 6225. I bought a data cable. Could not transfer pics or ring tones Modem was disabled. Called Nokia support. Sprint had those features disabled. WHY? Becuase they want you to buy their wallpapers and ringtones and internet. Found a software program that gets by this Sprint disabled featue. Its called MobiMb by logomanager. You can also go to cellphone hacks. They migh have a solution for ya as far as the modem goes |
