Before work last night, a "coworker" was bragging about driving with no insurance. Her response was "I dont give a fuck, I cant afford it"

My reply was "It is because assholes like YOU that the rest of us suffer in the form of high rates and having to carry uninsured motorist on our policies"

My girlfriend thought that my response was a bit harsh, but WE all pay for these idiots who choose not to carry insurance.

Is there any way to report this to state authorities (DMV). I was wondering if any LEO's out there knew. BTW, I live in Nevada.

I would not inform on a co-worker for no insurance.  I would however avoid riding in her car.

In some states, insurance is NOT required but fininancial responsibility is.  Insurance is for the ones who cannot afford the bond necessary for adequate responsibility.

if you have more than one car , you might want to consider"stacking" If you need to use the uninsured motorist  portion of the policy they add all car policies together. I have six policies (lots of kids and wife) that will add up if needed.Agents are not under any requirement to tell you about this, you must ask. My BIL got FUBAR from an uninsured motorist and he never heard of this until it was too late.

I thought Nevada was a no fault state. So it doesn't matter whos fault it is, your insurace covers your car.
Still not right for that person to drive without insurance, but in this case I don't think it matters.

Don't get me started.

The kid that hit my father last week only had 50K in liability ins. That was burned up in two days in the ICU and four operations.

If he lives, his medical/rehab bills will be over 1 million.

Uninsured drivers need to be skinned alive…

4 years ago I was rear ended by a moron in a large and expensive SUV… who 'couldn't afford the insurance'…

I ended up with a wrecked vehicle, a busted back, and my wife had PTSD and needed treatment for two years, cost me a small fortune.

We'll, I sued the MF'ers ass from here to hell and back again… now he ain't got to worry about the insurance. He lost his SUV & home  to pay for the bills and compensation. He has a wife and kids too… Sucks to be them.

She knew that f**ker was saving on the cost of the insurance to run the flash wheels they could not really afford. Now they catch the bus…tough.

My county has about 25 percent uninsured drivers.  As a result my insurance rates are about 40 percent higher than the national average.  Deadbeats suck, and I bet most of them have cell phones and cable TV but they "can't afford" insurance.
