OK, were what- 5 weeks or so into the season. The reactors start melting down in three hours. The math isn't working for me, unless something else is coming after the reactors are shut down. Any speculation? |
I would say that to someone who did not know guns if I handed them a Glock. Its the simplest way to explain in that situation. Rather than say "now this is a Glock, it has no saftey". When I have handed a newbie my XD they sit there looking at it trying to find the saftey. I explain it has none. But If I was in a tense situation like Jack, just saying the saftey is off is a pretty simple way of saying just pull the trigger without making someone think. Cause non-gun people will dwell on the the fact it has no saftey. I know, I have seen many stop and think...or say "Realy?" |
But the safety would be on until she started to squeeze the trigger, right?
|
I don't get why they would wait 3 hours to start the meltdown. Also I am sure there are manual controls to shut down the reaction in a nuke plant just incase the electronics fail. It would seem to me even if someone took over the electronics they could manually shut down the plants in the 3 hour window the terrorists were so nice to give them. |
+1 I thought of Chase when Jack said that he called someone he could trust, Tony was a complete suprise, I now wonder when Palmer will show back up, it's the only way to get Tony a pardon. David Palmer will ask the President "since I backed out because of you were blackmailing me I think you owe me a favor or I will bring out why I decided not to run and completely undermind your whole presidency" Well here I go with the speculations, just can't help my self. |
So from this comment we can assume that you don't like the 007 movies or books, Arnold movies either, or dare I say it action movies ata all. Everyone knows it a Television show and it's nice to have a diversion from our normal routine and like to watch, it's something that helps you forget about how crappy a day you had at work. |
What? Are you saying it's not real???!!!
|
by all means........ no, of course it's real all the little voices in my head tell me to buy a tactical case and carry it around in my car I even talk to Tony and Chase when not hanging with Jack at the Starbusk be cause THIER IS NO TIME, and you just have to trust me. I know I am right, because someone here is hiding something ....... |
| I'm a fan. I also worked CID for quite a long time. This is fantesy, but it is fairly realistic fantesy. I'll go with the nuc reactors being able to be shut down manually. Hell they could just pull the switch and cut the electricity off for a few minutes then reboot. But there is something else in store. In a way the Arab father who sacrificed his family is a dupe and I think he will figure it out. I look for him to save his wife and son and come over. |
Dammnit!!! It's not real!?!?! What's a guy got to do to get some true reality television around here? I guess I'll have to go back to watching wrestling...
|
While, from one perspective, it is true Jack solves the crisis, but from another perspective, he acts as part of a larger team, and the show emphasizes his dependence on others in getting the job done - an aspect absent from the 007 series. |
-1 24 is awsome...for a TV show if one man can DESTROY the world, why not save it? |
Tony showing up took me by surprise also. And according to an interview with Dennis Haysbert (Palmer) in next week's TV Guide, Palmer's character will be back for the last 5 episodes. |
Agreed, I was a miss in my choice, but I think my point was recieved,
|
That would explain why the bad guys knew about the visit to the son's house, since the son strongly suggests he didn't tell anyone. ETA: He seemed to deserve the sensory deprivation anyway. If Dad had applied some of that earlier in life he might be a more compliant kid.
|
I predict by episode #14 he becomes a cross-dresser. But how's Chloe getting back intot he picture? |
No, I believe he has said, "They don't need to know who my friends are" or so shit like that.
|
You are confusing the soon to be ex of Jack's GF and the punk son of the Secretary of defense. They are not the same. The black gal worming her way into the system is the mole. |
...and a CUNT!!!! What I find NUTS is CTU command is wireless friendly - not getting that! |
Which makes us suspicious of him, although we don't really know if he ratted out Dad's visit. I think the writers are using him as a red herring. Think of the timing. The SecDef's daughter starts getting close to Jack, winning his trust, several months before the op kicks off. Hmm... |
The more I think about it the more this seems likely. They show the girl we think is a mole calling someone to tell them what Jack is doing but they never directly tie her to the terrorists. Somehow she is "in the know" about a lot of details. She is also keeping tabs on what people are doing. |
And yet I still watch. Deadlines mean nothing. The only thing you know is that it'll end in episode 24. But maybe that's the trick this year. Maybe 24'll turn into 48. I figured it'd be either Tony or Cloe that he was calling. That was a no brainer. I was glad to see Tony, not surprised. 24 will just pull the floor out from under you, and start over. They want you to think his new girlfriend is Nina reincarnate. I hope Kim and Chase both stay out of it. I never liked either. |

Not anymore anyway. Hydropower.
