I've been dealing with my FFL guy for about a year now, he works out of his house.  In the last few months, I bought a few stripped lowers through him,   A few weeks ago, while doing a transfer,  he told me he was looking to get into an AR and knew nothing about them, which I thought was a little funny seeing he was an experienced gunsmith.   Within five min.,  he was telling me how to put in a drop-in auto-sear, and how he knows how where to hook up with M16 LPK.  I shut him down and told him I'm not interested!  THIS GET BETTER-KEEP READING!- I shared this with some "friends in the know"- they advised me to take a home video at the range next time I see this guy there.  After viewing a short video, this guy and two other guys were ID'ed as ATF agents.  I was given prof a few days later, when I was shown a court document with his name on it  as an ATF agent in a sworn testimony, (in a case that, in it self, was very interesting).  These guys are very slick, don't be drawn in by these jackboots!

Don't these monkeys know for the most part we're law-abiding citizens??? and if we wanted to go full auto we know what steps to take to do it legally.  Go bust the gang-bangers instead

Sheesh.

Shouldn't they be looking for current criminals instead of trying to turn a citizen to the dark side?

Most of us have no need to be carefull, beacuse we know better, and we're not breaking the law.  But some people are'nt that sharp, and are attracted by such offers.  Glad to know YOU are too smart to be drawn into such a trap.

..personally? I could care less. I don't plan on breaking the law anyway. If I want FA I'll go through the proper legal channels. In the mean time I'll be trying to change the law so the legal channels aren't as hard to go through.

Uhmm...  A Drop In Auto Sear is not illegal.  You got $10,000.00 US handy, go buy one.  As for installing it, they are a little tricky, but nothing major.

Drawn in?

Doubt that.

Yeah, gotta watch out.   Entrapment is a bitch.

If a FFL started talking to me about knowing how to put in M16 parts and shit, I'd basically tell him that IF I could afford a DIAS and the associated tax, and had it transferred to me, then I'd talk to him about M16 parts.

Club Fed isn't in my future vacation plans.

No offense meant.  It just smelled fishy to me, that is all.

And many times in the past people have come here and posted similar stuff that later was found out not to be completely true, or we weren't getting the whole story.

So forgive me if I am a skeptic.

Tell him that you want the parts and will bring your rifle to a third party location so he can show you how to put them in.  Set up an appointment.

Then call the State Police and tell them that a guy is planning an illegal machine gun sale, and you know where it is!

Call from a payphone.  Wear gloves.  Don't be dumb.

BTW, if you arrange this meeting, they can still get you for interference.  Have a friend arrange the meeting with the gunsmith over a payphone.  And have another one make the tip off to the local LEO.

If you want a good deal on lowers, Eaglearms.com or  Ameetec., that's where the BATF AGENT did the transfer from.  Stagg Lower from Eaglearms is $85+7.95ship+$20transfer.  Pretty good deal. right?  Any more questions?  And no, I'm not gonna out this guy, so don't ask me for his name.

I was in a gun shop one time and a guy there started talking to me about full auto conversions. I simply said, "well if someone wants to then its not that hard if they do their research, but I will not be doing it because I dont want to go to jail."

It never hit me that he might be ATF or the like, but I have no worries anyhow.

Why?  I'm not doing anthing illegal, in any shape, way, or form.  I see your point, but, it's all out in the open anyway.  If you buy ammo, and have it sent to your house, no matter how you pay for it, UPS or FedEx still knows its ammo, and that info. is personal, I think not!  When I started this post, I was'nt shaking in my boots!  All this talk just makes me want to buy another lower from Eaglearms, and buy another Model1 kit, because it's sooooo damn good.

ATF agent posing as an FFL?  I don't believe it's legal for an ATF agent to actually BE an FFL.

If so, all the lowers you bought are technically off the books and you are already screwed.

What difference does that make?  Are you saying he's posing as an FFL to catch people breaking the law or are you saying he's an ATF that just happens to do FFLs on the side?  Either way I don't see how it could be legal.

Basicly, what you are telling us is that the BATF is selling you AR15 lowers. Not posing as a dealer, but actually dealing firearms. That is a bit hard to believe; do you know what Sarah and the gang would do with this?

First off, that comment wasn't meant towards you, but since you want to stop opening cans of whoop ass, let's have at it.

Guess what? I don't really care what you think. Sounds to me like you pitched your sale to the wrong crowd. An ATF agent, with an FFL, giving free auto-sear advice.
