Just think, if it gets banned you can hold onto it for 5 years and sell it for double what you bought it for! |
damn as to why to own, i dont know, guess its just casue its a novelty |

I did this poll a week ago. It was two to one NO. I might, if I can spare the cash after taxes. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=314562 |
Is that a hi-cap clip for that 5-7 there!? Nice...nice...I'd like to finger-fuck one before I buy one. HK Mk23...it will have to come...first. |
| The fiveseven is a high quality mini AR, and a blast to shoot. Try it, you might love it. Rapid fire all 20 round with complete control. It's a pocket AR...sort of speak. Mine (pictured above) has the gloved trigger guard, I wear tatical glove in the winter. That works for me. |
The ability to penetrate soft body armor with an easy to conceal firearm. the SS192 is an excellent round to wound someone who is wearing body armor with. it doesnt really do anything else well though. |
So what else does the SS192 round do well? It's not a good round for self defense due to its 22LR like terminal balistics, it unlikely anyone is using a 20rnd handgun for small game hunting, its not a good plinking round becuase of its high cost. For almost any purpose other than a concealable pistol that pentreates soft body armor, there are bettter picks. I can at least respect the people that admit that's what they want it for. But there are just as many denying that's what they want it for, yet are rushing to get SS192 ammo. |
So our RKBA should be at your whim? Hell, you guys got the congress to ban specifically designed (steel, tungsten, etc.) AP ammo, even though no cop had ever been shot by it. ![]() And that was apparently not enough. So, what objective standard do you propose to keep us lowly serfs in line master? Banning cartridges at a whim? That's the prohibitionists wet dream right there (I only don't say your wet dream, because you don't seem to be a complete prohibitionist). The only thing we'll have then under a Clinton presidency, is Airsoft. Some friend to gun owners you are. |
No, I have never advocated banning the 5.7, P90, or SS192 ammo. I do advocate honesty though. even when the honest answers might portray FN or gun owners in a bad PR light. |
Perhaps I've misjudged you somewhat then, and I apologize. However, I don't think everyone's motives here are as low as you paint them. People are touchy about possible bans here, you should understand that I don't think that FN purposely marketed SS192 and the 5.7 to endanger LEOs. In fact, I believe it's the only non-AP (legal definition) ammo in wide availability for the 5.7. SS196 has just been introduced to address the issues you brought up. FN has also been taking a bath, apparently, in the LEO/Gov't market with the 5.7 and the 5.7x28 round, so civilian sales may be the only thing that will guarntee future availibility to LEO agencies if they ever want to buy the 5.7 or P90 in the future. It's just not selling that well. Same thing kept Barrett alive in the 80s, apparently. |
