Ever wonder where military surplus comes from.  Check out this site.  Military Surplus

This may be dupe, but if you are in the market for 96 pairs of BDU Pants in medium woodland camo this is the place to go.

They got some 13 ton 6x6 trucks going cheap - low mileage.  I have no idea what I'd do with it, but I bet people wouldn't cut me off (more than once) on the highway.

in the "individual equipment" category under textiles and clothing it is interesting to see how many extreme cold weather sleeping bags are for sale in Hawaii(???) the surplus mag pouches look to be in excellent shape though --"case small arms ammunition" halfway down the page.

cgi.govliquidation.com/auction/view?id=513560&convertTo=USD&tid=GLSPPR0563

if I had a store I'd get an account and buy stuff from here
that's $1 per LBV. I just got a used one on ebay for $20
hell, maybe I should buy stuff from here and just be an ebay store

All the surplus goodies go through DRMO AKA Dr. Mo. www.drms.dla.mil/

Ha ha! Look what I found:

LOT (1)TRI-WALL OF INDIVIDUAL GEAR INCLUDING: COMBAT USED BOOTS VARIOUS SIZES.

Are there minimum bids on lots besides the $35 that is posted as the first bid? I assume this is a minimum bid. If that is the case I see a 85 4x4 Blazer w/ 18K miles on the odo for CHEAP!

Man, that would be a good hunting truck.

Does anyone know if they set min bids besides that $35?

Now we know where that guy who runs The Sportsman's Guide gets all his stuff. LOL.

The sad part is... many of the DRMO's used to operate "cash & carry" stores.

GLakes had one... mag pouches for $2-3, Intermediate sleeping bags for $15-30, LCII packs for $5-30 (sometimes with frames).

It was nice, because instead of going up against Sportsman's Guide or a surplus store with a bottomless checkbook, or having to buy 338 ammo cans as the lot you could get the amount you wanted for a decent price. Uncle recouped some bucks, and everybody was happy.

They closed a few years ago, and were going through some LLC /LLP or another instead.

I'm sure some general or admiral is in charge of this latest deal as well...

ETA - the link for NSN info mention Levy-Latham... that's the same sockcuckers that took my cashncarry away! Bastidges!

I'm actually gonna seriously look at those when I graduate.

They're classified as damaged but repariable.  As long as the engine and "important" bits are okay I bet I could fix anything else up.

Be cool to have a Army truck for a small bit of change. Almost all of those have bids of $35. Be a lot cooler than my goddamn Dodge Shadow.

keep in mind they add 10% to your bid price as a commision to the site. Also they are pretty inflexible about pickup times. what you are given is what you get for a time slot. 8-3pm mon-fri only for most bases.

If you order from out of state freight will rape you. we order from there a lot.

You better buy a fuel truck and find someone to follow you around in it.

They generally make it to thoise lists because the "engine and importants bits" are kia or mia.  And those are minimum bids.  (Although my ship's engineering department built a  truck out of several  from Barstow DRMO during a yard period.  Painted there own numbers and everything on it.)
