The Military Channel just did a show on the Battle of the Bulge and at the end said that more Americans dies in the battle than died on both sides at the Battle of Gettysberg.  Is this Correct?  I always thought the Battle of Gettysberg was the largest death toll of any battle.  Perhaps it is single day versus single battle.  Who knows the answer?

Total killed at Gettysburg on both sides is around 7650. Gettysburg had about 48,000 casulties on both sides, with the vast majority being wounded, not killed.

At the Battle of the Bulge, around 19,000 US were killed, with 81,000 total American casualties

Nope, they're right on.

Battle of the Buldge: 81,000 American casualties, including 23,554 captured and 19,000 killed.

Battle of Gettysburg: 51,112 casualties (23,049 Union and 28,063 Confederate)

Now, for the civil war as a whole, casualties outstripped WWII by a far margin (618,000 vs 405,399)

Well, once again I stand corrected.  I never cease to wonder how people got information before the internet was invented.  It would have taken a lot of book time.  Well, I guess that is what the encyclopedias were for.
