Does anyone have a .gov link showing gun crime rates between CCW states and Non-CCW states?

Thanks

Was there a study done on that?  I wasn't aware.  If there wasn't it wouldn't take much (I would think) to just get each State's homicide rates and then compare them with the NRA's website of CCW States and non-carry States.

I may have to do it myself.

I plan on doing that...
but it would help if you would give me a copy of your resources.

Thanks

Well, one could take the stats from individual states and separate them manually.  Not a biggie..  A little historical data could also be grouped and compared.

I just don't have the time.  I'm surprised this isn't available somewhere.

John Lott has done quite a bit of work on it, including the following (This is literally cut and pasted from his CV):

More Guns, Less Crime: Analyzing Crime and Gun Control Laws, University of Chicago
Press: Chicago, Illinois (1998), translated into Portuguese (1999). Second edition
published 2000.

“Crime, Deterrence, and Right-to-Carry Concealed Handguns,” co-authored with
David Mustard, Journal of Legal Studies, Vol. 26, no. 1, January 1997: 1-68; portion
reprinted in The Gun Control Debate: A Documentary History, edited by Marjolin
Bijlefeld, Westport, CT.: Greenwood Publishing (1997): 88-91; single authored
summary reprinted in the Valparasio University Law Review, Vol. 31, no. 2 Spring
1997: 355-364.

“The Concealed Handgun Debate,” Journal of Legal Studies, Vol. 27, no. 1, January
1998: 221-243.

“Deterrence, Right-to-Carry Concealed Handgun Laws, and the Geographic
Displacement of Crime,” co-authored with Stephen G. Bronars, American Economic
Review, Vol. 88, no. 2 (May 1998): 475-479.

“Do Concealed Handgun Laws Save Lives?” American Journal of Public Health,
Vol. 88, no. 6 (June 1988): 980-982.

I have electronic access to nearly all of them if that helps anyone out greatly.  Also, if you email him (he is currently a scholar at the American Enterprise Institute) he will share large chunks of his data.

Also, most of the data can be assembled from various sources on the web with little difficulty and studied using whatever technique you want to use.

That's what I'm trying to find is unbiased data.  I've read John Lott's data, I'm just not convinced he there may be some bias in his data.

It's not his data. It's FBI UCR data. Numerous other independent researchers came to the same conclusion he did.

Ahh.  When I gather enough on all the states I will post the results here.
