My homeowners ins co told me yesterday that if I supply make, model and s/n of my guns they will be covered for fire and theft. They would need a pic of anything worth over $2500. I have reservations about giving out that kind of info, who could see it? Sounds like registration to me. Anyone see a problem with this,or is it ok? Thanks |

i dont see it as a problem myself. id rather have it insured by any means than losing it all and getting nothing in return sort of the samething i guess: i got renters insurance and i just figured that anything that i own is covered whether it was a gun or no. is that incorrect? |

Every company has it's own policy. I just went through this. One had coverage up to $2500 and I asked to make it $5k, they said no problem it's this much more a month. Another one I mentioned firearms and got hit with, where are they are they locked what do you use them for do you collect how many do you own why so much money....and on and on. Needless to say I went with the other company and I have pictures and serials of everything I own in case of theft or the need to replace them. |
| I do know for a fact. If your guns are not scheduled on your policy all you will recieve is the pre-set limit made by which ever company you have. Insurance carriers do vary with this limit. By my short time ive been here, i would believe there are many not properly covered. In event of fire, $2000 or $2500 would not take long to spend replacing ammo, accesories, let alone the firearms. It is confidetial imformation between you and your company. I would and do feel secure telling them with pics and numbershinking.gif |
