Sure is nice to see that at least some of our fighting men are still carrying Browning's masterpiece!hug.gif And thanks for the great pics. |
Check out the high-res pics. MEUSOC .45's in Safariland 6004's. |
I just noticed it. First pic, first from the left.

I think(and I know somebody will correct me if I am wrong) that those are khaki nomex flight suits. |
They are, you can see the zippers on the legs and the fod holder on the upper arms. |
|
On the FOD issue. They are firing off to the port or starboard, on an aircraft elevator. I'm sure the rest of the flight deck is operating like normal, except for this one area. On why they are using flight suits, who knows. Expensive as hell, though. And HOT. Nomex flight suits don't breath too well, even if they are desert brown. |
| The flight suites serve several purposes 1) Flash resistant 2) Cheaper than nomex CQB suit 3) saves the Marine the cost of replacing cammies, they only get around 300 dollars a year to replace uniforms 4) coolness factor, since the GWOT your not cool unless your wearing a tan nomex. |
I have heard they drop them in door ways to mark after a room has been cleared when sweeping thru buildings. Not sure if that's true to them, but supposedly it's what LA SWAT does... EPOCH |
Yes among other things, there is a NATO standard for marking in MOUT, but units modify this for their needs. |
|
Right now only Officers in my unit are getting them. The sad part is more of these M4 go to POGS of the Marine Corp. Shit you more likly to get a M4 being a cook then a GRUNT thats the way I'v seen it all are H&S guys are getting the M4 and only officers get the M4 with the grunts. |
Well you can blame that on the rigged LUT done back in 99-00 and its results being accepted by the GCE board in 02. The testing was done in such a way that the A4 would win, because rifle range scores were weighed more heavily than troops views on the subject. Because of that fighters were given rifles and those whose job was to lead or support were given carbines. |
