They sent me a coupon expiring 12/23 good for $1.99 movie rentals.

So far I rented and watched:

- Van Helseng
- Collateral
-  I Robot

VH was the best of the lot, I Robot, the second. All 3 could have used a lot of female nudity

Just dropped them off and rented:
- Bourne Supremacy
- Unstoppable

They've They recently threw out their old late fee system. That should help them tremendously. I rented Return of the King a while back and forgot to take it back and had $16 friggin’ dollars in late fees (more than the cost of the movie was new in the wrap!). I had not been back since.

Blockbuster is on my Eternal Shit List.

We got a bill in the mail one day for $150.  $50 in late fees and $100 for the movie.  We told them we returned the damn movie, and they better look again.  After a lot of back-and-forth they finally found the movie sitting on the shelf.   They admitted the clerk probably hadn't checked it back in.  But, they still demanded we pay the $50 late fees.  My wife went down there, tore their asses up, and told them to cancel our memberships immediately.

I'll watch re-runs of JAG and 7th Heaven until my brains liquefy and run out my ears before I will ever set foot in a goddam Blockbuster again.

My situation is made less dire by the fact that there is nearly nothing worth renting anyway that isn't worth buying.

so far I havent been screwed by them, but I couldn't pass up $2 rentals.  Those DVD's are worth buying, but not at $20 apiece.  After a couple month's they'll be $14.99, then gradually they'll be $9.99 movies.  Spending $2 now gets watching them out of my system, if I have the urge to buy the DVD I can wait till the price drops.  So $2 now saves me $10 down the road.  I bought way too many DVD's at full $18.99, $20.99, etc because they were "must have".  Now I see them for $10.  What  a rip!

Now after this $1.99 rental deal, rentals go back up to $4.49 or whatever.  I won't rent again unless I have a coupon!
