Just got back from the funshow, and spent less than half my available fundage(rare for me). Here's my newest toy:

Rock Island Arms .45. I dentical to the Springfield I nearly bought for over $500. Total outlay on this one, $225 plus $16 for a hundred rounds of .45 hardball. Not too awful bad I think.

Nice, let us know how it shoots.

Just got a Springfield Mil-spec a couple weeks back that looks just like that. Love it so far. Have fun!

I was oh-so-close to pulling the trigger and getting the Springfield, but decided to wait, and I'm kinda glad I did. If I don't like this one, I'll just try to get my money back out of it and get the SA.

I wouldn't consider it "broken in" until you've sent 500 rds. through her.

Nice gun.  My dad has been looking at a Rock Island Arms .45.  When you get a chance, please give a field report.

Is that ammo American Ammunition (withA-MERC headstamp)?  If it is I would suggest not using it.  The ammo is been known to be crap (size not to Spec, over pressure, loose fir primers, etc).  Just a FYI.

Great buy on the Rock Island.  I love mine.  It is extemly reliable.  Never jams.  the only problem i have had was the pin that holds in the hammer and the hammer arm both broke on mine after about 200 rounds.  After a quick swap with two GI parts, it has run like a champ ever since.  Great gun for the money!

I bought 2 MRE's and some wolf .223 and 7.62x39 at a show today.  Saw some neat stuff as well as the usual over priced things.
