My mom is 75 and very active BUT is going stir crazy from not interacting with humans at all, she isn't at all religious so volunteering at a church is pretty much out....where else is a good place to look to set her up to work at least a few hours a week on a volunteer basis?

Childrens home, battered women's shelter,  Meals on Wheels,  Chamber of Commerce

What did she do in a past life?  What would she like to do?

She worked at an American Legion about 10 years ago, now the dogs and cat is all she has for friends. I'm thinking maybe the Humane Society is a good place also.

VA Hospital

Lots of older vets there who like having someone their own age to talk to.

Someone already took my suggestions, Humane Society or Hospital. One of my grand Aunts is in the same "boat". But it's far more complex in a REALLY bad way

The county health clinic sometimes needs people to do data entry, filing and assemble condom packages, she might try there.  That’s what my mom does three days out of the week.

Hospitals would seem like a dangerous place for older folks -------------

lots of virus floating around ......... and the older  have weakened immune systems.

No not in the area you live.  AFI / Leid Animal Shelter maybe the closes shelter.  The NSPCA is out of Dewey and Las Vegas Valley Humane Society is on Trop.

I just thought of this, check with Petco and Petsmart down the street from your house.  Check to see what group does the on site adoptions at the stores, and see if she can help out.
