Ok. I'm in the market for a new 308. I've already got a medium match M1A and an AR-10 and was thinking about a DSA Arms FAL, but I saw the Fultom Arm's M1A Tactical stock for the M1A and it has given me pause for thought. Anybody w experience with that system?

Don't know anything about that system, but if you have an M1A and AR-10, its obvious that you need an FAL next.

Yeah, I'm thinking about a FAL or some other .308 myself. Tagged.

The safe seems so LONELY w/o a FAL!

I'm in the same boat.  I just got rid of my Tikk M595 Master Sporter bolt action in .308, and have an AR-10 now.  But I have been thinking of getting a bolt action "huntin" rifle in .308.  Perhaps a Tikka T3 Lite stainless with synthetic stock?

If you've got the M1a and an AR 10... Personally I'd go for a bolt gun in one of those awesome Accuracy International stocks and some good glass to put on top.

I have one in SS All Weather 7mm Mag...very light weight and a great field gun....HOWEVER, it is NOT an all day shooter....not just because the 7mm mag will punish you, but the barrel gets slap happy after shooting a bunch - then it just throws em where it wants.

If you are serious about having a hunting rifle - they are fantastic...just don't try to make a tactical rifle out of it....

Or you could get a Steyr Scout.  Talk to most owners and they will tell you that they don't tend to wander when hot.  In fact, mine seems to tighten up just a bit once the barrel gets nice and toasty.

I have several custom M1A's and a GA Precision built bolt gun on an AA folding chassis and love them all. I bougth one of the DSA high $ FAL's and hated it. The fit and finish was nice but the sights and accuracy were teh suck.

If you want an FAL try the Arizona Response System's FAL.  Very good rifle.

One of my co-workers has an M1A SOCOM in the Fulton stock.  It's heavy as hell.

What is the "Fulton stock"?

Sounds like you need a bolt gun now.

How many times has this been asked?  Over on General Firearms in the Armory there's at least two flaming threads on this subject.  M1A this, AR-10 that, FAL the other, HK91 for the bold few, on and on and on.

Everyone just ends up arguing their opinion.  There's no right answer.  In the end, you should just buy whatever you feel like right now.  And always buy both and all four by the time you're done.

Really!
