LAX Officials Searching For Explosives
POSTED: 10:42 am PST December 4, 2004
UPDATED: 10:54 am PST December 4, 2004

LOS ANGELES -- Security agents from JFK Airport in New York searched for a cargo of missing explosives, Friday night.

An Air France flight into LAX was surrounded and searched late Friday night.

French military police said they lost track of the explosives that were being used for training at an airport in Paris.

The explosives could potentially be on one of 100 flights that left France, police said.

When the Air France jet from Paris arrived at LAX passengers said they were shuttled into busses and held for more than an hour without any explanation.

No traces of explosives were found.

No explosives were found on three other planes that were searched in New York.

So, the explosives are still in France, supposedly, but unaccounted for?

The missing training explosives and that search are related; same stuff.

Once again, America is required to clean up one of France's messes.

EDIT:

Christ, 100 flights to search.

Why would France need expolsives for training?

So next time around, they can sink their own navy, instead of relying on the Brits?

Training sniffer dogs.  They were using a bag containing a small amount of plastic explosive to train the dogs to detect bombs.

The idiots lost track of it and apparently it got put on one of about 100 outgoing flights.

There is no animated smiley to portray The Neutral Observer's disgust at this.

5oz of C-4 was put in a passengers bag and they forgot or lost track of what bag it was and the dog still needs training because he missed it too.  I know many simple safe guards could prevent this but it happened here too. TSA sent explosives to Canada.hinking.gif
