Given the strange love the mods here have for Islam and its followers, let me be the first to say,,,,IBTL. On a different note, politicians like John Kerry and his followers have a love of Islam and a distain for American values and culture. These people will never support attacking the group of people that will be insturmental in helping them destroy our society and creating the socialist utopia they dream of every night. The nations who formally lived under the umbrella of freedom and safety the MAD doctrine created have long since turned against us as well. They now provide nuclear technology and development support to our enemies, the provide safe havens for the money and training for their soldiers/terrorists that keeps this war going. In short, times have changed. The standard islamic terrorist is the most protected and supported soldier in the world today. He can film himself sawing the head off an innocent man or raping and executing a lady who spent her life working to improve the lives of thousands and be applauded in the world media as a hero. He can blow up children in a school bus or little girls in a pizza palor and be worshiped in europe as a hero against the oppressor. The typical terrorist considers killing a little baby or blind old woman a supreme act of heroism and the european and arab media will show his horrible deed and people will adore it. On the flip side, an American soldier can put a pair of ladies panties on the terrorists head as punishment for his raping a little boy and get court martialed and jailed for 10 years. This after an international outcry over this terrible act. The same soldier can be court martialed for shooting an armed gunman who is pretending he is dead to try and lure more Americans to their deaths. This soldier can be second guessed by members of the media 24/7 since he is now required to drag them into combat with hima nd allow them to film his EVERY move. He is not allowed to shoot unless being shot at, not allowed to shot at armed men as he watches them running down the street with rockets and bombs, not allowed to do much of anything most of the time because he is being led by timid generals who don't want to offend anyone in order to do the job. |

Radical. Effective, no doubt, too. But what would be the response, if any? Would any of the nuclear powers dare to pop off something at us, knowing that by doing so they'd be signing their own "place green glass self-luminous parking lot here" warrant? Would any of the lesser powers try something, too? A very interesting thought experiment. | Although I wouldn't recommend nukes, the Israelis used a similar policy with the Palestinians. Simply put, the Israeli's openly told the Palestinians beforehand that xxx amount of houses in the home town of any future homicide bomber would be destroyed for every successful homicide bombing. What's interesting to note was the fact that the Israeli's identified the sites before any bombings took place. It's an interesting tactic. If the Palis don't want their houses destroyed, it's up to them to either give up or deter the bombers from acting. Nothing like turning your enemy against itself.... |

I don't think the U.S. would respond as such. BUT...if we did... I doubt VERY HIGHLY that there would be any military response against the United States by the other major world powers. Let's face it...the only response, if any...from China, Russia, France would be a launch against some of our cities. I don't think they'd do it as they know we would retaliate... |
| My idea was to mark a map of Islamic countries with an alphanumeric grid. Every time a Muslim commits an atrocity against America or Americans, the president goes on TV and draws a slip of paper from a big drum. "A-5," he says, and the Air Force completely destroys whatever A-5 is, whether it's downtown Tehran, a patch of desert, an oasis with a caravan camped by it, or Mecca. I think it'd quiet them down pretty fast once some shithole they consider holy came up. |

Saddam kinda neutralized this policy while he was in power by rewarding sucide bombers' families with cash to rebuild their homes.... but now that he is gone.....

Short-sighted in the extreme. There is absolutely no way to tie a bomb to islamic terrorists with enough certainly to kill millions of people. With MAD, you had a certain amount of accountabily. At first I want to jump in and say HELL YEA, but think about this: Remember the movie "the sum of all fears"? The novie was about some terrorist that detonated a bomb in the US to get us to go to war with Russia. So now with the above listed policy anyone that wants all the muslem capitols destroyed only needs to attack the US with a WMD and the US will do their dirty work. I admit I have lost friends to this war, but the above action is not the solution to our problem. I remember the villages in Afghanistan and the faces of the children that were glad to see us and was happy we eliminated the Talibon. This battle will be long and hard , but we must kill the terrorist and only those who would harbor/help them. If we have a definate target I have no issues killing/nuking them. I will tell you this, you dont want to be responsible for the deaths of inocent people. Just imagine how you would feel after walking thru a village were a GBU was dropped only to find out it was filled full of women and kids. FREE FREE |

I disagree. Where do you hear of Muslims anywhere actually trying to stop this crap? I don't hear of it at all. The most I hear is "Well, killing private citizens is bad, but you have to understand yakyakyak -" and that from people who are donating money to terrorist front organizations or to the "charitable wings" of terror groups. Let me be clear: I think incineration is an appropriate punishment for the people who danced in the streets and passed out candy on 9-11. That'd be most of the Arab world. If it were true that the majority of Muslims were peaceful and hated terrorism, terrorism would have stopped by now. I suspect that the majority are at least theoretical supporters of terrorism, and I believe that any Koran-believing Muslim would have to be. I am not persuaded that there is a significant number of truly innocent neighbors. To respond directly to your analogy: no, it's more like saying we're going to arrest you the next time you help your neighbor load his guns, mask, and vest into the car after he's told you "Hey, FFYR, gimme a hand. I have to rob another bank, and I'm in a bit of a hurry." |
