if you want to get one legally many resellers like newegg offer winxp for a cheap price when you buy it with OEM hardware, which can be something cheap like a disk drive. another alternative is if you or a family member is a university student, colleges usually sell software for a big big discount.

I am a university student (graduate with honors in 18 days, thank you, thank you) Anyway, I ordered it off of the internet for 81 bucks with academic discount of course
