| i'd like to put a wood stock and pistol grip on my mak90. where should i look for these parts. the gun is a norinco i think it has a stamped receiver, but i'm not sure. any info on how to tell the difference would be nice. |
if its stamped, look at the back of the reciever is there a cover plate riveted onto the rear sides with a long rivet going through the reciever to hold them onto the outside of the reciever? if so you have an underfolder ready MAK-90. oh yeah, dont forget about parts count |
i can't really tell. there are 2 rivets at the rear that apear to go all the way through. it has the metal tang that the stock screws onto on the rear aswell. |

hmm well you've got the painful one try this link: iron wood designs |

Check out www.Ironwooddesigns.com Matt has a nice website that will explain which stock set you need. Good looking, Good prices, and American made, so it counts toward your parts count. Tapco has the trigger kits also, but a guy in the EE has them cheaper. Very easy to do. |
| I think you have enough American parts if you just change out the fire control group and handguards/pistol grip/stock. You sound like you have the same gun, stamped MAK90 Norinco, that I have and I am doing the same exact thing. I picked up the FCG with adjustable trigger from red star arms and am getting the wood HG,PG, and stock from ironwood designs. Ironwood was out of stock for a long time but now have the sets in stock. Check his web site ironwooddesigns.com for the kit you want but it is probably the #1m. Good luck. |
Hey red, my mak has that fat plate directly up from the center of the pistol grip?? does that mean it would be a easy swap to put on a underfolder?? |
+1 Not that there isn't excellent advice here, but you could cross-post it over in the AK forum as well. |
