I bet there are a lot of gun shops at sporting goods stores that do it. The closest I've seen personally was at Cabelas. They had stacks just in front of the gun counter. I think it was $79, $89 and $99 depending on the model. It was a couple of years ago tho'. I wouldn't be surprised if prices have come down. |

I briefly looked at a couple, but was afraid of the quality you would get for the price. I still have flashbacks of a guy who drove 45 miles to sight in a CVA at the club, only to find that the plastic cap holding the striker in the action had broken leaving the rifle useless for all but a stick.

I believe so. This was 4-5 years ago. Yes, it was a plastic cap. I didn't get to see the color!  I was flabbergasted that they designed it so that plastic piece bore the stress of the "bolt spring" or whatever the nomenclature for that would be. |
Not to mention that you have to take the entire rifle apart to remove the bolt. That's why mine has been packed away. It makes me laugh whenever anybody goes on about how easy modern inlines are. They're no where near as reliable or servicable as a more traditional model. |
I assume they dropped the rifle completely and moved to better designs. You could call them, but you'd be better off with a new rifle. It sucks you never got to shoot it. I liked CVA because you got a simple basic rifle for low cost. Then I got an apollo and really wasn't happy with them for a while. |
