Mmm... very good dessert. For those who don't know, Bananas Foster is a dish made by frying sliced bananas in butter, sprinkling them with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, removing the bananas, adding rum, and lighting it. It's delicious. Plus, it has the bonus of being invented at Brennan's, a very good restaurant in New Orleans. Anybody besides me tried this? Only problem is, the alcohol doesn't completely burn off... I think I'm marginally buzzed... and the pinkish clouds in my vision (I'm not joking) weren't there before... |
Nexus6, if you're ever in Cincinnati, Mike Fink's restaurant on the river has probably the best I've had outside New Orleans. They've got a damn good raw bar too. Take your Visa. |

Unless you've had Bananas Foster at Brennans Restaurant in the French Quarter of New Orleans....you really haven't had Bananas Foster. Sorry. That's just the way it is. It originated in the 1950s and was named for Dick Foster, one of Brennans' most cherished customers. Eric The(OfficialTourGuideToTheFrenchQuarter)Hun
