I got this from Mike Galligher's webpage. I thought it deserved a post. www.mikeonline.com 6/12 Good Riddance Tim McVeigh is dead. He had his last meal, mint chocolate-chip ice cream. He was able to make his final statement, a written peom. He was led quietly and peacefully to a room where he was put to sleep in the most dignified manner possible. But that’s not the way his 168 victims went. Their last meal may have been a half-eaten English muffin, or maybe they skipped breakfast that morning. They had no final statement. Maybe the last words they heard were in argument with their spouse or a reprimand from their boss. Many also did not die peacefully or very slowly. They ran out of oxygen or were slowly crushed while trapped between concrete slabs. There was no dignity there. We have chosen to treat killers better than law abiding citizens. They get three square meals, cable TV, and a warm bed... and they get to die with dignity. Maybe it’s time we rethought how we treat these criminals. He who lives by the sword should die by the sword. |

I was thinking that hanging McVeigh would have been better than letting the scum die peacefully in bed. Then I realized hanging was too good for him. Burning at the stake would have been more appropriate. European countries have been butchering each other for centuries, I doubt if anything they have to say would be relevent to anything. |

I have thought about this and agree his death shamed me. The fact that we, as a country, make more excuses about a man who killed 168 people dying in a "humane" fashion than we do about the thousands of poor and unemployed in this country, sickens me. As a firm believer in the old "eye for an eye" reasoning I think these people deserve to suffer the pain they've inflicted on others. Forget being "humane" to them, just as they failed to do so to their victims. Our jails should not be full, they should be empty. Thieves with no hands tend to steal a lot less than the rehabilitated ones. Dead murderers seem 100% likely to never kill again. McVeigh's death should have been horribly painful. I think we should have lined up 3 people with shotguns, loaded the shells with sand and perhaps an occasional small piece of glass, and then fired upon him until he died. Perhaps that is a bit much, but 168 lives is a lot to pay for and crushing him with a large slab of concrete is too simple. Screw the electric chair, gas chamber, and lethal injection. It's time to hand out punishments that fit the crime. -- GB |

PLEASE DON'T SHELL OUR SUPERIOR CITIES..... [heavy] |

Yeah, but why start now? We should have been doing this a loong time ago, so that the innocent people who have been executed can join in the fun too. Oh, wait a minute. I get it. We'll only execute the "guilty" ones. Or, maybe the "really guilty" ones. With any luck, the next innocent person executed will be related to some tough-talking kill-'em-all type. That way I can hear him cry about how "this time it's different." |
| I think we should use the technique the Taliban government uses in Afganistan. Put Mcveigh against a brick wall, and have a tank run over him and the wall. Short of blowing up another builiding that is the cheapest and most cost effective way of doing it. The bricks act as a buffer so that no Mcveigh bits get stuck in the treads, I hear they can be hard to clean. |

Then, they would take him and all his possessions, pile them up and burn them. With the WHOLE community watching. Retribution to the criminal, warning to the potential criminal. |

You would all do well to remember what precipitated McVeigh's actions. Is no one else pyssed off that the Government thugs who also murdered innocent civilians, including, by some strange coincidence, 19 children at Waco-plus young Sammy Weaver, are still walking free, much less executed? Sorry guys, but justice HASN'T been fully served yet. |
