What is this software (I know it is to share files), but is it legal or another Knoppix (sp?)?

it's a somewhat older filesharing program, just as illeagle as the rest, I prefer ares myself. Ive seen some websites charging for winmx, trying to say it's a legal way to download, bunch of BS.

doesn't work for me for some reason. I can see files but never download them.

Ok, thanks! That is what I thought, but I was looking for legal versions of classical music (see classical music thread) that I can download and listen to before I buy a CD. Anyone know any?

There are legal ways to d/l music. WINMX isn't one of them. Nor is it even one of the best.

Probably the best filesharing prog out there is DC++

It is NOT an illegal program.
It is only illegal to DL copywrited material.

Think of your pistol. The wrongful use is the illegal part.

I like emule myself.

I will have to try Limewire and DC+.

That's what I meant, sherrick, but some sleazy websites are trying to get people to buy a "subscription" to winmx and saying it's a legal way to D/L music and files...

LOL, that reminds me of those ads in Shotgun news. How to buy an M1 straight from .gov. Send $25 for an info packet. And they send you a CMP application.
