Has anybody ever seen the Blue Man Group performance at the Luxor in Vegas?
Just wondering if the show is worth the ticket price....

I have only seen videos of their performances, but I would highly recommend seeing them live. If you like their sort of performance, it's very awesome.

They are from Boston I believe........they certainly hang out in any place considered flamer central.....I haven't seen them perform - and don't intend to. Some chick tried to drag me off to one of their concerts once. I didnt go. They strike me as a bunch of fucktards. Not interested.

I have two of the BMG CDs.  That's two too many, IMO.
But if you like them, good

haven't seen 'em live, but do have a dvd and cd... pretty neat stuff.  I just missed seeing them in Chicago a few years ago when I was there on business travel.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The show is simply awesome, intense, and hard to describe unless you've actually went. I saw them in Chicago and it was very very good.

From their website, they miss Yasser - no indication of their political or moral beliefs - but everything about them screams gay.

Blueman Group message board traffic........

Good show - worth seeing.  The only problem with seeing it at the Luxor, is that the stadium is very large.  If you don't get good seats, you end up watching the screen more than the stage.  But if you get comp'd tickets, see it regardless of the seats.

I don't care if they are butslammers - they put on a good show and there is no homo stuff in the show.

Not in Vegas, but I saw their Boston show. It's unreal, an awesome time. Very high energy and you'll have a blast. Go see it!

Notice there is only one person saying they're "gay". I think he may have issues of his own...

Saw them in Chicago 3 years ago. Definetly worth seeing. I'd go again if they were preforming somewhere close to my house.

Seen them at the Luxor.  Worth it.  Great show funny too.  I believe we payed $90. per ticket. That hurt but worth it I even bought the CD after the show.

They are good.   I'd classify them as pop performance art that was part comedy, part music, part bizarro.  I found them thoroughly enjoyable.

One of my favorite parts of the show was when someone came in late, they put a video camera on them which projected on to the stage and teased them.   So don't be late.

If they create something and you really liked the show and want a sourvenir,  don't be afaid to ask them for it after the show.  I got a blue man painting that way.

How much is the show now?

Seen them twice, at their original NYC venue.  An outstanding, and very original show.  No homo stuff whatsoever, and the show is very kid-safe, IMO.  I've seen the same exact show twice, but would see them again when they change the act.

This thread should have been locked as soon ad Hielo posted his response. He isprettymuch the authority on everything... especially backing up his comments with factual evidence. Just look at the pictures of his bathroom... truly a modern marvel.

The wife and I got comped a couple of tickets when we were there in April. (Vegas)
My wife was absolutely enthralled by the show since she can't hear too well and is very
visually oriented.  She claimed she could hear all of the drumming and was really into the
screens that showed all the little extra things like the head bob and arm pump etc.
I enjoyed it myself but not quite as much as she did.
I think tickets now are at least $100 if not more.  I heard that they were going to move their show to one of the other Mirage group of hotels.  I don't recall which one though.

Im a HUGE BMG fan. Im making a PVC drum in my basement. Its worth it to go see them. Ive gotten to talk with a few of them, so if you get the chance stay after the show to talk with them. Last time me and my friend were talkign with them after the show and they invited us to go have a beer with them at the local pubs in Indy, but alas, not being 21 sucks.

I've been wanting to see the BMG for a while now.
As far as their political orientation goes you have to understand that there's at least 20+ blue men to perform in all the shows across the country.  Granted a majority of performance artists are liberal it's still hard to imagine all the BM share the same ideals.

They are very entertaining.  You need the best seats you can get.  Closer the better.  You have to love a show when they give you rain coats to the people seated up front.

haven't seen 'em live, just on video... however, i have seen recruiting ads for the group... didn't see "sword swallowing" listed as a criteria. however they did have a max height of 5'10" or so, IIRC. otherwise it might have been interesting to go to the auditions.

Awesome performance. The Luxor has some extra stuff the other venues don't have. Reserve your ticket ahead of time and try to get into the "splash zone" and bring home some freshly painted clothes.

OK - 99% of this thread is a GO FOR IT...

I know nothing about  this performace group - I see them on TV pimping Intel and I was intrigued, I checked the web for performance dates and prices ($82/ticket).
I'm going to do it and I trust I'll have fun!!!

Thanks all.....
