Fall is the best season and it is not up for discussion. Winter - brutal Summer - brutal Spring - cold and wet and dead stuff everywhere. Fall - some warm, some cool, great colors, great fishing, most hunting seasons finally open, pants and hoodie weather! Wife cooking and baking more. Less humidity and less bugs. Then make it as far through winter as possible and when you can't take it anymore head south to a Florida beach for a week or two!! |

Ah, Fall in Florida. It is not Africa hot anymore. Just hot. Only have to mow the grass every other week instead of every four days. No more violent thunderstorms every afternoon. In the Fall we real people have the state pretty much to ourselves. The shithead summer tourists are gone and the goddamn filthy ass snowbirds and winter tourists haven't showed up yet. |

DDT was bad because of cumulative affects on bird's eggs and on humans. Once every three or four years wouldn't cause issues, but would knock out the mosquito population. Starting day after tomorrow, we're supposed to have a week in the high 70s, lows in the mid 60s. I'm ready for it. What I'm looking forward to is what we call football weather. High 60s or low 70s during the day, and high 40s-mid 50s during the evenings when the ball games start. Remember though, this is the Carolina's, and we have weather up in the 70s and even the 80s on Christmas. One year when I was a kid, probably about eight years old, so i the mid 1970s it was in the 80s on Christmas Eve, with violent, summer type thunderstorms. I can remember going to my grandmother's house next door in shorts and no shirt that day. Late that night the bottom dropped out and it was in the low 40s for the high. Mid 40s here at night, and the maples are already turning. Dogs are in beserker mode, they love this weather. Reading by the fire, wee dram and amazing stars. They're coming to pull the boat on Friday Already too cold to swim, but next summer is a long way off.Yesterday was our last day out. Attached File |

I had to turn the heat on today, it was 68 in the house and I am sick. Give me another week of 80 degrees please, or at least until I am better. |

My boss and I were talking about it yesterday; It’s been hot since the first day of summer, June 21st, to the first day of fall, September 21st. There’s usually a break in there, but not this year. It seemed like it hit 90 every single day for the last 3 months straight. It was so nice to feel that 62 degree air when I opened the door to take the dog out this morning. Might even head to work early and get a pumpkin spice for the heck of it
