This happens a lot. Sailboats, cabin cruisers, fishing boats, ferry's, etc., piloted by morons who fail to understand that 1,000-foot ship can't just stop or quickly alter course. I have had ships come in and notice scrapes and paint on the bow but no record of hitting anything. You look back at their course and see they sailed from China, to India and then the US so you really have no idea what they hit or where they hit it. |

The Chinese have been doing this for a long time. They turn their transponders off when they know they are fishing somewhere they shouldn't be. They do this around protected marine sanctuaries all the time. They sail up next to the boundary, turn off their transponder, and poof it's back on hours or days later after their holds are full. They should all be blown out of the water. Same thing with the Chinese CG ships harassing fisherman who are fishing in their own country's territory. Attached File |

Every vessel in China's fishing fleet and their escort vessels* need to be sunk along with all crew members. They are well known for essentially raping an area, especially other countries waters. They circled the Galapagos a couple of years ago, staying just outside the exclusion zone (yeah right), and caught everything they could. They use illegal methods and take everything. Some of them dynamited a reef off a friend's village in the Philippines a couple of years back, it ruined the fishing for people who are basically subsistence fishermen and reefs take decades to even partially recover. The locals apparently talked about using drones to try to drop their own explosives on the Chinese fishing boats but they were scared the gunships would shell their villages. The Philippine navy, such that it is, is basically powerless to stop them. They're professional and dedicated, especially the Filipino Marines that I've met, but underfunded and under-equipped for the tasks that need doing. Similar situations in every Asian country I've been in short of Japan. *The Chinese navy and coast guard escort their fishing fleet as they invade other countries waters; they have sunk and killed locals in multiple countries. All of the countries in the region basically hate each other so they'll never form a coalition to do what needs to be done. |

Reading the rest of the comments, it seems to be debatable Simple to confirm vessel location using other nearby vessel's radar, but it's completely believable because it happens all the time and is well documented by every country they've done it to including down in the south Pacific and the Galapagos as well as the US and Australian navies. All you have to do is look at China's Nine Line map, the territory they claim, then compare it to a map that the rest of the world recognizes as official territories. |

F' em hard, long and deep. I've seen how their Navy and Coast Guard treat the Filipinos fishing in and around their own Island's water's. It is disgraceful. (I loved watching the footage of two of their destroyers colliding when harassing a Philippine Navy vessel) If those F'ers thought that big line of ships was just going to steer around them, I guess the figured wrong. Too bad that boat did not flip. (And) They didn't learn a damn thing. They'll do it again. |
