38 years old, lots of complications caused by liver failure from heavy drinking. We had been friends since middle school, not to sound cliche but he was the kind of guy that would do anything for someone if they needed help. He wasn’t that person when he drank though, and we had gotten further and further apart over the last couple of years due to his drinking. He died surrounded by people that loved him, but he lived his life alone. I’m not here to preach, but if you have a loved ones that are telling you that there’s a problem, at least hear them out. |

My ex son-in-law is also dying of alcohol-induced liver failure. We don't think he is long for this world. He is Mexican-American. As a whole the men love to drink a lot. He comes from a family of drinkers. Getting hammered at a party is expected. It's now time to pay the tab. |

^ Sad, I've also lost old friends from drinking & smoking tobaccy....an ol work bud from drug abuse, that said he did make it 72yo before it all caught up. But 38yo is horrible, your bud should been in his prime days, but I do the know the power addiction can have. I wish he's finally at peace. |
