In our family 10 years after our youngest son returned from his deployment to Afghanistan. This sort of story is prevalent at every level of society. Only newsworthy when it happens at celebrity level. |

| What a sad and tragic event. I don't wish that on anyone or anyone's family. Depression and hopelessness can take many forms and put people in a dark place. They can even seem fine to family and friends, hiding their true feelings until it is too late. No matter the socioeconomic factors, a young life lost is tragic and is not to be celebrated. I pray for this nation and that we would return to God and not some form of godliness. Only Jesus can take away our pain and give us something to look forward to, not just in the next life but this one as well. With Him you can have peace and take comfort knowing that we have nothing to do with our salvation-being a "good person", works, etc., it is the gift of God. With whom do we compare being "good" to anyway? It ain't one another, as we are all sinners and no one can/should boast about what he/she does, as it means nothing to the Lord. |

| Those sobriety programs seem like a joke. Just places for the wealthy to send their kids because they are tired of dealing with them. The only thing that seems to happen is they have more peope like themselves to hang out with. They may offer support but the residents don't have to use them. Even if they are court ordered to be in the treatment program they are not confined to the facility, they can come and go. The only thing that happens is the facility reports them to law enforcement if they don't come back by curfew. And money just flows into these places....and they buy realestate with the money to create more "sober homes". |
