Hopefully that X account actually knows the difference between the FCC and the FEC…..

If you actually look up the people named there on the FEC website, they’re Arlington, TX based owners of a car dealer chain and a tech company serving dealerships.   MEI Group.

Wow, I can’t believe Massie gets donations from American businesspeople who have Arab names, that’s so crazy.

It looks like they donated to Dems in 2021-2023ish, and Massie + MTG more recently.   Are you upset by the fact that someone might have switched parties?

Yep, several came and said why they supported him - it ain't because they were pro-America.

A record-shattering $37M was spent on Kentucky's Massie-Gallrein race.  Here's who funded it...

Most of the $37 million spent in the contentious GOP primary between Congressman Thomas Massie and Ed Gallrein was by PACs funded by pro-Trump billionaires, pro-Israel groups and dark money.

The largest-spending group was MAGA KY, which was formed by Trump campaign advisers and aired ads attacking Massie for nearly a year. It reported spending a total of $7.4 million, with nearly $3 million of those advertisements launching in the final two weeks of the primary.

This final ad push by MAGA KY at the close of the campaign was largely funded by America 21 PAC, which directed a total of $4.4 million to the PAC. The largest donor of both PACs was hedge fund manager Paul Singer, a major Trump donor who combined to give them $3 million. Also giving $1 million to America 21 was Jonthan Pollock, the co-CEO of the same investment firm as Singer.

Another top donor to MAGA KY was Israeli-American casino magnate Miriam Adelson. She contributed $750,000 directly to the PAC last year, and is the top donor of MAGA Inc., another Trump-aligned PAC that gave $560,000 in the final week of the primary.

Billionaire hedge fund manager John Paulson was another top donor, giving a combined $410,000 to MAGA KY and America 21 PAC.

Other top donors late in the race to America 21 PAC include:

- The Conservative Record ($1 million), a news site linked to commentators Mark Levin and Glenn Beck
- Stephen Schwarzman ($400,000), the CEO of private equity giant Blackstone
- Kelly Craft ($100,000), Kentucky GOP donor and former candidate for governor
- Marlene Ricketts ($50,000), owner of the Chicago Cubs
- Two separate PACs with a mission to help pro-Israel candidates also combined to spent $8 million on independent ads to help Gallrein and defeat Massie.

Spending $4.1 million on mostly attack ads against Massie was United Democracy Project, a PAC largely funded by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the most prominent pro-Israel political group in the country. The same PAC spent $15 million to defeat Bowman in the 2024 primary in New York.

Spending $3.9 million on mostly positive Gallrein ads was the Republican Jewish Coalition Victory Fund. The group received $350,000 from the Congressional Leadership Fund — the top super PAC for House GOP candidates — and $250,000 from Trulieve, a Florida cannabis company. But the identity of RCJ Victory Fund’s top donor is unclear, as it reported receiving $5 million from Kua Ventures LLC — which has a New Hampshire mailing address, but no online footprint.

Pro-Israel groups were vocal about their desire to defeat Massie, who was an unapologetic critic of Israel’s military action in Gaza that followed the 2023 attack on Israel by Hamas. Massie supports cutting off military aid to Israel, calling its action in Gaza a genocide and blaming it for pulling Trump into the ongoing war with Iran.

That's not actually what happened.

Mossadegh was appointed by the Shah. Constitutionally the Shah had the power to appoint on his own, but it became custom for him to have the Majlis vote (it was basically a process lite Senate confirmation of justices, except weaker since it wasn't in their Constitution). When the Shah decided to remove him Mossadegh staged the actual coup and remained in power.

Kermit Roosevelt's plan to oust Mossadegh failed, and it was actually Iranians who ended up taking him down. Roosevelt exaggerated his importance in events and the US importance in the 1953 events in Iran.

IIRC both sides spent almost the same amount of money. Both sides spent 18+ mil. A few hundred thousand difference.

The Massie campaign spent more money than the pro Israel money against him.

So, I'm of partial Jewish descent and generally support Israel-- I don't 100% agree with any politician including Massie, but I don't think the AIPAC stuff was why he lost his primary. He had a well-funded opponent with Trump's endorsement. Trump's popularity seems to be waning, but he is still the kingmaker within the GOP primaries or at least he was as of the SC and OK runoffs. The other factor to consider is voter enthusiasm, awareness, and motivations. It seems like a voter who was taking Trump's endorsement of Massie's opponent seriously would have been more likely to actually vote in the primary than someone who was generally fine with Massie, but not a political news junkie.

Bloomberg and others have shown that money alone doesn't cut it.

Massie began working with Ro Khanna to damage Trump. Now he's gone and it's good riddance. How Massie voted doesn't matter compared to the damage he was trying to inflict that would benefit the Democrats.

You "Trump is always right" people got your wish.  Massie is gone.  Apparently you think it was Trump waking up and motivating the voters to finally take action.  If so...why did they cancel the 4th District annual Lincoln Day Dinner due to low ticket requests?

Where did all those motivated voters go?  MAGA should be having a massive rally at the dinner about how great they are...yet something that wasn't cancelled even during COVID got cancelled because no one wants to attend now.

It takes money and strategy.  Trump and AIPAC targeted the boomers using regular media and it worked.  $300 and a successful strategy is all it takes to run a successful psyop.

When the President looks into the camera and says "Massie voted against the party 100% of the time" why would the Boomers think that would ever be a lie?  When the VP looks into the camera and says "Massie voted against the party 100% of the time" why would Boomers ever question it?  When the Secretary of War says "Massie voted against party" why would they question a high ranking government official.

$300 and President lying right to the faces of the public is all it takes for a sucessful psyop.

Massie was just too egotistical or too stupid to understand American politics or at least American politics with super thin majorities.

Something is better than nothing.  The dems spent decades chipping away our freedoms and pay checks by banding together even when they didn't want to, that ain't all coming back in one fell swoop or even in chunks without super majorities in gov't.

Also, keep your family disputes within the family.

you missed the whole point.   The Lincoln Day Dinner is when all the high profile donors, state level candidates, business owners and locals heavily invested into politics attend.  Those are the real base and the ones who donate to help people get elected.  That whole group, thanks to Trump, said "Fuck It' this year.

Trump is 100% to blame for butting into state level politics, lying to the base, and manipulating people.   The results speak for themselves.  Massie's out, you can't blame him for the low attendance.  Those events were packed every year when he was there.

That leaves the puppet ED that Trump hand selected, a nobody that clearly can't energize voters, or Trump himself forcing his way into state politics and pushing the boring puppet as being responsible for low turn out.

Do the math, even if every boomer voted as a block, if everyone else voted for him he'd have won.    I'm sure they were significant but 1. they aren't all as gullible as you need them to be. 2. there aren't enough of them to matter if everyone else voted for Massie.....clearly they didn't.

It's not like it was close.  He got his ass kicked by 10%  That's not a close race in a primary.

How about you answer the question.  If people love the nobody puppet Ed so much, where the fuck are they?

Massie absolutely understand politics, that is why he didn't make all the remakes he is making now earlier.  He knew exactly how the game was played, how influence is bought/paid for and he was never a part of it.  He stood on his principles of cutting spending, smaller government, not being the world police, free trade, and no wars.  Trump praised him for all those things in 2022.   Once Trump flipped his own positions and Massie didn't, that is when Massie became the enemy.

The House has a larger than +1 majority, Massie's vote was never needed for anything.  Massie voted with the party over 90% of time.  Trump, Vance, and Hegseth flat out lied to the people when they claimed "Massie voted against the party 100% of the time".

Something is better than nothing, the Massie would have been better than dividing the Republican party, alienating the base, and the end result will be Republicans stay home as the Dems sweep the House. That $20 million Trump spent dividing the Republican party would have been better spent on Senate races right now so the Dems don't take the Senate as well.

People can hate on Massie all they want...but watch this video and show me where anything he says is wrong.

https://www.facebook.com/share/v/14pCBagbTo2/

Since I know people are too lazy to do their own research I'll add the key points.

He asks, why not the $5,000 before the election.  Then points out the Republicans are running against socialism and Trump promised "$5,000 to everyone" which is socialism if Republicans win.

Massie voted for the SAVE Act every time it came up but the Senate isn't going to pass it.

He points out how the Republicans claim the elections were stolen...as they have the majority in the House, Senate, White House and Supreme Court.  If Republicans won, how were they stolen from them?

He asks why Congress is being called off when they have the Majority.  He didn't say it but Republicans are voluntarily giving up their ability to government for 50 more days.

He calls out the Uniparty telling people they have to vote on certain bills but can then vote how they want on other bills.

The Uniparty likes compliant politicians who do as they are told.

How they sell/rent out committee seats.  You buy your influence.

He also calls out how this election is similar to 2006 when the Iraq war was bogged down.

He lays out everything that many here assumed was happening.  He's out so there is nothing to gain by what he said.  He's just laying it all out there for everyone.

He's describing how our political system has worked for 250 years.  Yes, if you are a member in good standing the leadership of your conference is going to ask you to vote a certain way.  Sometimes they give you a mulligan if it's something very sensitive to you in particular, or your district, but mostly, yes politics is a team sport.  That's a feature not a bug.  Leadership controls all kinds of perks and benefits, committee memberships, which is where the real work gets done, are the big ones.  And fund raising, because reps are constantly fund raising, and a lot of those funds come with strings attached.

Given all of that, if your party has the WH the speaker/leader is not your ultimate leader, the POTUS is the head of the party.  And if that POTUS has enormous popular support among your base and a fucking pile of money.....he's going to fuck you up if you piss him off.   Which is exactly what Massie did.

He thought the people of his district would appreciate his conviction and principals.  He was wrong.    They liked Trump more than they liked him. He thought the Epstein stuff had legs. I tried to tell you all it didn't.

Shit happens.   it doesn't require a conspiracy, or even shady politics. This is just plain old politics the way we've been doing it forever.

If it makes you feel any better, Fetterman is doing the same thing.  They are frantically looking for someone to run against him in his next election.  The dems will do essentially the same to Fetterman that the republicans and Trump did to Massie.

I explained it in three short paragraphs, and an MIT engineering grad couldn't figure it out?   C'mon.

No, the wealthy elites don't attend those dinner.  They go to the dinners in DC that are $20,000-$100,000 a plate, not the state level dinners at $50 a plate.  The business owners there are the ones creating jobs, need political influence to grow/expand, want local tax breaks or grants...all local level stuff.

I didn't recall him attacking Israel verbally for defending itself physically.

I checked Wiki and saw this (in addition to his repeated NO votes on financial aid to Israel).

In November 2023, he was one of just two members of Congress to oppose a resolution affirming Israel's right to exist and equating anti-Zionism to antisemitism. (smells like Hamasshole)

In July 2024, Massie boycotted Benjamin Netanyahu's address to Congress, calling it "political theater"; he was the only Republican to do so. Yep, he's a Hamasshole. Fuck him. Too bad, because I like the idea of an actual fiscal conservative sitting in Congress.

I never claimed it was a state level office.

It is 100% state level politics.  That why candidates call out "people outside of the state trying to influence the outcome".  The Republicans did that back in 2018, they threw a fit about Nancy Pelosi is trying to buy votes for the District 6th seat.  People outside of the state are trying to control Kentucky.

Massie drew ire for voting against the OBBB because of the spending (for all the crap Paul Ryan got, at least he knew how to cut spending). Massie draws ire for voting to end Trump’s not-congressionally-declared war/conflict in Iran as is Congress’s right. Now he’s a RINO for trying to make traditional conservative priorities a priority, because a former New York Democrat who wrote a book which included a passage on his support for assault weapon bans says Massie and Paul and whoever else doesn’t march in step is a RINO.
