Are you saying they'll do a 4473 only? There is one in Ocala that is definitely doing 4473 only transfers of suppressors. GPS guns and ammo. I just forwarded my GOA membership email, filled out a 4473 and walked out with a pair of suppressors. |

The doomerism about what hypothetical future Democrats might do in this thread is epic. At worst, they’ll tell dealers to stop doing it. That’s it. They aren’t going to spend the resources to hunt down anyone, much less everyone, who sold a pistol to an 18 year old on a 4473. Same thing about reinstating the NFA tax. Just need to sit back and enjoy what we have. |

Every FFL gets inspected regularly, and the ATF can inspect them as frequently as annually without a warrant. How hard is it for the IOI to check purchasers’ ages? Remember, under the Senile Joe administration, the ATF was using any violations it could fine to harass FFLs. This is pretty low hanging fruit. |

I think they either have that for the sake of not getting every random non-plaintiff in the state in their store or they just haven't updated it, but yes, they'll do cans on a 4473 for GOA members. I brought the actual member card so you might want to call and verify what else they'll accept if you don't have one. The only two suppressors I've ever bought were 4473 cans in the last few weeks from Shark Coast though, so yeah, verified You can always call ahead and check, but the two I have and the many I saw flying out of the store on 4473s say it all for me. I'm actually fighting the temptation to go get a third since they have the 9mm Sonicore cans now too...Here's a clip from their podcast that came up a while ago in this thread where some other shop apparently called ATF on them for doing 4473 cans now that we can do 4473 cans: ![]() False Rumors & the ATF |

There are around 54,000 FFLs. Assuming a 3 year inspection cycle, approximately 1,500 would have been inspected since this kicked off. Probably 3-ish millon NICS checks in that time. Interesting we haven't heard more, one way or the other. Maybe all the 4473 guys are in the Gulag. |

Fuck any FFL not a part of the movement. Not so. I am fully convinced that a member of a plaintiff class taking delivery of a can on a 4473 is absolutely in compliance with the NFA as set forth in the injunction. FFLs, on the other hand, face a different issue. A can comes on a Form 3 and a disposition must be recorded. Nobody knows *how* to do that, as several FFLs here have noted. Note that 18 USC 923(g) is not part of the injunction. Nor is Rule 2021R-05F. So FFLs are in a gray area with STEEP edges. Failure to follow proper record keeping as defined by the ATF gets you a $1000 fine per item, and that’s if the ATF is being nice. If they deem the errors “willful” the fines can jump to six figures. Very different things. |

'In theory' places like Capitol Armory could send you an SBR in the mail like they do silencers. They were both considered firearms, and needed a form 4. Why shouldn't we get SBRs through the mail? |

Why shouldn't we get SBRs through the mail? Because there is a non-enjoined provision in GCA ‘68 regarding delivery of an SBS or SBR that requires permission from the Attorney General - which is currently satisfied by the issuance of a Form 4. |

Check their stock online, try to get there pretty early before the parking lot fills up with giant trucks, bring proof of GOA membership, buy with confidence. |

I guess I don’t get driving 120 miles one way just to get a 4473 suppressor. I understand that it’s nice to be able to pick one up and take it home with you right there and then, but with $0 tax stamps, I’m fine with waiting a week, especially if I don’t know if the place I’m going has what I want in stock. |

I'm of the same thought. I'm thrilled that we are making good headway on the Second Amendment front, but with Form 4 and Form 4473 suppressor purchases costing the exactly the same, I'll most likely continue going the Form 4 route. My last one was approved in essentially one business day. My reasoning is that it protects me from uneducated law enforcement. Sure, I may be 100% legal with a 4473, but there's no guarantee that I won't be paying bail and lawyer fees up until winning the case. |
It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air, that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.

Honestly I wish I could get rid of most of mine now just so my wife or daughter doesn’t have to fool with them all when I’m no longer here. That day will come. I went crazy buying in the 90s! Main reason I stayed away from any NFA stuff. |

I totally get it. But I’ve lived in a state where everything was registered. Not just a background check and 4473 but actual registration. Any cop could pull up a list of everything you owned. Unregistered guns are priceless |

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm sure - if you're in the NFRTR already, it's probably not moving the needle much. You're already on the registry, you've already been through the system, whatever. Sort of like an inverse of after the first felony the rest are free, I guess. Maybe do one for the sheer novelty, definitely be happy for the group I'm getting to in a second here, but otherwise, meh. Meanwhile, I never thought I'd own a suppressor. Nothing against people who followed the process, but I refuse to submit to their bullshit tax scheme and I was perfectly willing to just do without because of it. This injunction has offered the one and only lawful method for me to buy and use a suppressor, and beyond that, it's an opportunity to put my money where my mouth is and take some kind of personal action in support of my rights instead of just paying my membership and occasionally leaving a voicemail at a congressional office that nobody will ever give a shit about. Thankfully Sarasota isn't terribly far, but I'd drive across the state and back for the chance to be part of that. When you thought you'd go your whole life without a suppressor because of some idiotic Jim Crow tax scheme, a day's worth of effort really doesn't seem like much. ETA: All you Form 1/4 folks, whatever your thoughts are on the utility of 4473 cans, please try and get your suppressed stuff out and visible as much as you can as a way to normalize them to the gun-owning public and maybe get a few conversations going to boot. Even if it's somewhere like a public indoor range where you need ear pro regardless, let's all do what we can to try and normalize them and spread the word about the injunction. Anything and everything that boosts the number of people with suppressors/SBR/SBS or at least break the perception that they're some kind of rare mysterious scary things is a benefit at this point. |

You can always call ahead and check, but the two I have and the many I saw flying out of the store on 4473s say it all for me. I'm actually fighting the temptation to go get a third since they have the 9mm Sonicore cans now too...
