I was at the game.  Still in Oxford actually. Only one beer can made it to the field and that was near the end of the half when Ole Miss scored.

The criticisms are legit......he has the talent to start off fast, but calls some head scratching plays at times and gets things sideways and puts the defense in a hole. I am glad for the win but there is alot to continue to work on........on both sides of the ball. Russell will continue to get better but the tendency to pass all the time needs to be balanced

From what I have seen over the years, DeBoer will pass around 60-70% of the time and his defenses adopt a bend don’t break attitude.

It’s certainly a different philosophy than those coaches that came before him.

The slow starts are not helping, but when they get clicking, the Bama offense has a lot of weapons at their disposal to light it up.

I think Russell has a chance to be a superstar

He is already better than Milroe

He was excellent last night.

I don’t think anyone wants to face OM with less than a six point lead and 2:00 on the clock.

Agree.

That’s why I have him going to UGA in 5 years after Jerry Jones dies and Stephen Jones tries to replicate Jimmy and Jerry by hiring Kirby.

I always hate to see LSU lose to Ole Miss, but at least the second half was exciting. LSU just couldn’t overcome the shitty first half.

Yep. Chambliss is real good. I am glad we made it competitive in the 3rd quarter. Green getting hurt isn’t great. Hopefully it’s not too bad.

Purely from a fan’s perspective, I’d rather just lose. Make the score more respectable, sure, but don’t give me false hope that you’re actually going to win. I think it’s less gut-wretching to know with 99% certainly you’re going to lose by halftime than to watch your team mount a comeback, tie the game, make you believe they’re going to win, and then just blow it in the final minute.

YMMV.

I just don't understand how the OU offense could be worse than last year.  Definitely the worst offense in the SEC, most likely the nation.

They ran off Jeff Lebby (Who is doing incredible things at MSU) and replaced him with a much inferior product.  Just mind-blowing.

Edit:  I like this Coach Eck from NM.  Dude is passionate about football.

While OU does rank last in the SEC in total offense, if it makes you feel any better, Arkansas has scored fewer points.

True, but Ark had to play Georgia already.

Listening to different analysis this morning, apparently on the Sategna TD, Mateer didn't see him until the student section started yelling he was open.

Oh!  Mateer did complete his first 10 passes.  8 of them to Sooners, 2 of them to NM players.

True, but we’re only 3 games in. The stats don’t mean much.

For example, Ole Miss is middle of the pack having played multiple ranked teams while Georgia, Florida, and Alabama are the top 3 and they haven’t played anyone.

How is Mississippi State not ranked?

Edit: Looks like #24 in AP and not ranked in coaches poll (ridiculous).

I fully expect to fall out in October because we play a real schedule unlike several other pansy teams.

Throttling MN on the road is a solid win.

MSU came back down 16 points when nothing went their way and beat USC on the road. That's a solid win and I'm glad our young QB had to experience that adversity.

I’m not sure advocating for a team to be ranked higher by pointing out they were losing to an unranked team by 16 is the flex you think it is.

OU started the season ranked in the top 10.

Now, for their matchup against Georgia, they’re not even AP ranked.
