No poll. What is your favorite stout? Guinness tastes bitter lately. It sucks. Murphy's was good on Tuesday. There was an Australian stout. Sheaf. Probably, my favorite. It is impossible to find today. What is your favorite stout?  |

Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout is definitely a contender. Shit is ridiculously expensive though and I pick up a 4 pack mostly for special occasions a few times a year. Guinness is always a reliable fallback and available nearly everywhere at cheaper than most places. At home, it is WAY better out of the can than a bottle, which is frequently the opposite of most other beers. Locally, Summit Brewing has a decent Oatmeal Stout that isn't too expensive for someone who goes through a 12 pack a week. I find way too many breweries try to add shit like vanilla, chocolate, coffee, PB and other shit to stout and porters. I don't like any of that garbage. Porters that are also solid are Great Lakes Brewing Edmund Fitzgerald and Deuschutes Black Butte Porter. |

It's really really good I entirely quit drinking beer. I miss drinking stouts. Problem is that they just immediately put me to sleep. Another favorite, Obsidian Stout - if you can find it outside of the PNW

I love all of them, but the stout game is almost non existent these days... IMHO Dark Sky is one of the best breweries in the state, that and Wrenhouse. Ive never had a stout from OHSO or Tombstone, Wilderness has like two on tap, no idea if they can or bottle any. Fate.. its been years since ive had their candybar stout, my wife loves that one. Dark Sky has a few, but do they can/bottle them? Ive only had them at Dark Sky and it was when they had a ton of different stouts... now its mostly other beers. I think Wrenhouse is one of the few that puts more effort that most into their stouts these days, but most of the time that is gonna be a draft inhouse, not bottled or canned unless you get a 4 pack at the brewery or one of their beer bars. |

Half the fun to me was going to the original Papago brewing(RIP) and picking a stout out of their cooler or going to one of the good beer selection liquor stores and picking up a few bombers of different stout to try. also, having a kid really cut into my beer and bourbon intake.. like its down 99% lol. |
