When I click my start menu, I see a list of the most recent programs I have opened.  Is there a way to get rid of this list?

Also, with previous versions of windows I had little icons on the bar at the bottom of the screen over next to the start menu that I could click on to open the programs.  The way I got them there was to drag the icon from wherever it was down to the bar.  Is there a way to do this with XP?

When it comes to XP, just DO NOT do what I say and you should be fine.
