What's everybody using or prefer?

Ear plugs?  Disposable or "Use 'em until you lose 'em"?  Brands?

Ear muffs?  Traditional or electronic?  Brands?

Just curious what the general concensus is.

Peltor Tac 7's (outstanding!) for handguns  Peltor Tac 6's (not as much protection but lower profile) for rifles and for the ones I can't get a good cheek weld on with the 6's I go back to foam plugs.

I use both.  After all, it is arfcom!

I have the electronic noise cancelling ear muffs, and they don't reduce noise enough for me, so I loosely put the foam plugs in, then the electronic muffs and turn the volume up.  It still allows me to hear at the range, but keeps the noise down to a comfortable level.

I use the foam ear plugs and a set of muffs when shooting my rifles.  For handguns (except magnums) I use the foam plugs alone.

Just ear plugs if I'm the only shooter.  More bang=more ears for me.  I'll throw on the ear muffs.

+1 BOTH

Same here. Never had any issues/problems. If I was shooting a .50 or something I'd be throwing on some ear muffs too. My skin is hyper sensitive though and ear muffs (like ear muff head phones) irritate my skin after extended use.

usually just a good set of ear plugs for me. Muffs tend to be a little uncomfortable, and mess with my cheek weld

All the more reason that sound supressors should be de-regulated.  Just my $0.02, but for now I like the disposable type cause I get them from work for free.

+1+

Peltor Soundtrap (basically 6S) here.  And I buy disposable foam plugs 200 pair at a time for non-shooting hearing protection like when I'm wearing a welding helmet while doing noisy stuff.

33 dB reducing foam plugs and 23 dB reducing earmuffs.  I'm trying to save all the hearing I have left.

I use Peltor ComTacs, the only way I will use something different is if I let someone use them and then I have a set of David Clarks to use or foam ear plugs.

Foam ear plugs with electronic ear muffs over them.

I use those orange ones on a blue cord. I like the quality of earmuffs, but can't afford ones that don't stick out 5 inches from my ear. They come off when I shoot my rifles.
