Been thinking about buy Adobe Photoshop but I don't know much about it. I see that it is $650 to buy it or around $60-$70 to buy the download. Which should I go for and is it worth $650? What version 7.0 or 8.0?

I would look for an older version on ebay. Unless you're a graphic artist, earlier versions will have anything you want. I'm using 4.0 and see no need to upgrade.

Before buying anything, ask any of your friends if they know anyone who works for Adobe.  An employee got me the full Creative Suite for $88.  Make sure the $70 version you're downloading isn't cracked software either.

Here's a good one: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41877&item=3693004285&rd=1

Disclaimer: I don't know the seller. Could be a total psycho. YMMV. Not for sale where prohibited by law.

Hell, I downloaded it (7.0) free off Kazaa. It took a while, even for DSL. But it works.

Is discussing software theft a CoC violation?

$60-$70 to buy the download

What ever the download is it ain’t Photoshop, Photoshop is never that cheap.

Maybe the $70 download is Photoshop Elements, Photoshop Elements is a stripped down version of Photoshop that does 80% of what Photoshop does at a fraction of the price. Photoshop Elements is a good program to start out on it does almost anything Photoshop does except for the real high end tricks.

Photoshop Elements will do most everything anyone needs, it is a good starting point and you can upgrade later to Photoshop if you have the aptitude to use Photoshop to its full potential,  90% of Photoshop owners don’t have that aptitude.

Yeah, but the bastards moved all the tools around. I still prefer 6.0.1, but I have CS.
