The band 311 (3-11 or however it is written). Was on DC101 here in Washington DC yesterday afternoon prior to their concert and took that time to share their views on 'gun control' One of the members kept making comments like "people shouldn't be allowed to own pistols", "who needs an 'assault weapon' anyway", "too many people have Teflon bullet and 'cop-killers'." Oh and he was kind enough to take the time to bash the NRA for opposing taking guns off the streets. Jjust a wee bit on the ignorant side but obviously very anti. Found it interesting and was wondering if anyone else heard it. |
Okay.. now, Why? |

Jeez, I guess you never heard their song "Guns (are for pussies)." Here's a snip.... Don't want to be unprepared You're getting paranoid And then guns are shared You guys think that you're hard But you're in fear of being harmed I fear no man and i'm unarmed Born to act out, born to act out Paranoid with a gat Born to act out, born to act out Think you know where it's at Born to act out, born to act out But you're lookin' like a sissie Born to act out, born to act out Guns are for pussies I can't for the life of me understand why anyone gets their hackles up and acts all surprised about finding out a band or actor is democrat/liberal/anti-gun anymore. Almost all are, except Ted Nugent and a few others. I like 311, they've been around about 8 or 9 years I think. If you've never heard of them, you're either out of the demographic or don't listen to whatever's curently trendy. Plus, to stick it to you, they all grew up in Omaha, Nebraska. So much for the heartland maintaining the values you believe in. FWIW their music rocks. |
| The world is palying a cruel joke on these young men. Someone told them that they sound good when they sing and they believed it. They even got some gullible people to believe it too. Now they "sing" their out of tune lameass attempt at Reggae. The king has no clothes! There, I said what everyone else is too shy to say. |
There was an armor piercing bullet made several decades ago that fired a hardened steel bullet, and they put a thick layer of teflon the outside of it to prevent the hardened steel from ripping the rifling out of your barrel the first time you try to shoot it. Liberals, being the ignorant ass clowns that they are, assumedd that it was the teflon that made the bullets armor piercing. Thus we get to hear Robert DeNiro's character in Ronin say that the bullet got through his vest because the BG had sprayed some teflon onto the bullet. |
| The best one is what Harrison Ford said something like guns are bad but I dont know how to fix the problem, someone please quote it because I forget. Celeberties just need to shut the fuck up because they dont know what they are talking about and they influence people by their false statements. |
| that whole song guns are for pussies is totally misconstrued by those who have heard it or heard about it. even i myself when i first heard that song was in a way offended by the name itself. if you take the time to listen to the whole song it talks about how a person is a pussy if a fight starts and pulls out a gun. 311 is a great band and i like their music....well....their music up until about a year ago. i know why most of you would hate that band, especially after the said remarks this thread was originally speaking of. as a fellow gun owner im actually surprised by what they said but its not them that i like, its their music. the problem is that their record label now requires them to be like evryone else, come out with a greatest hits cd and sing really shitty music-which is what theyve put out for the past year. however, i enjoy their older music that i grew up with and will defend it unconditionally. |
Ya kinda but this part bothers me: "... Don't want to be unprepared You're getting paranoid And then guns are shared You guys think that you're hard But you're in fear of being harmed I fear no man and i'm unarmed" |
I agree. 311 has made some really original music. Anti-gun? Don't like it, never will, but the band itself is pretty talented. They have a few albums that are great. |

http://www.311music.com/images/band/pnut_extra_inset.jpg I went to the site and read some of the profound thoughts penned by the band members. I suppose in a society that admires gangstas with Mr. T class jewelry and hondas with 21" wheels (and hubcaps that keep spinning) that they are geniuses of some sort. If that's the best that Omaha & their age group can do, then I weep for their *demographic* |
Fuck these little sheltered pussies. |

Ban Teflon skillets, Its the only way to stop the killings before they start!

, but their music is really good IMO.
