OK I'll tackle it. The Jews were different from the Muslems and the Christians historically in that they were the only faith that did not prohibit usury, right up to the reformation. Islam still doesn't tolerate it. So Jews had the market cornered on banking and moneylending for centuries. Even nation-states had to go to the Jewish bankers to borrow money on occasion. So when you read such Diatribes about Jews being vampires from a historical document or figure you can use the word "moneylender" interchangably with Jew. Not that there wasn't any racism involved, but it wasn't so simple as that either. There's no great conspiracy, it's just that the same families that ran the banking industry as a monopoly are still overrepresented in that industry, and in other related industries where having a banker in the family is a distinct advantage.
