I'm on another board that is about agnosticism/atheism and its considerally more left leaning. This link got posted www.tnr.com/doc.mhtml?i=20040719&s=aaj071904 and there is a considerable amount of disapproval for Bush; although since its a partisan rag, they preface most disapprovals with "if its true" For those who don't want to follow links the summary of the story is that the Bush administration is putting pressure on Pakistan to capture or kill OBL and his band of merry men before the election. I see nothing wrong with this but its got people comparing Bush to a rabid dog, etc... Is there something wrong with self interest providing some of the motivation for a politician to do the right thing? |
| It is the right thing to do .... having it happen BEFORE the election certainly would help! I see nothing wrong with that desire ... after all ... if he gets re-elected, the country is better off ... so its not so much Bush has personal interests ... he is also trying to protect us from Kerry (and OBL, they arent much different!). |
Ok, Mac_Allen, it's not funny. Give Dino his account back now. We all know these words could never by typed by his fingers ![]() Seriously, I think his heart is in the right place. Could he be doing it to help make the country safer AND to boost his rating for the election? Sure, but what's wrong with that? |
