why dont I see more/any companies selling stripped lowers for .308 ARs????

Because each individual .308 AR maker has a totally different design, and the lowers are not interchangable... Instead of them all doing it the 'sane' way, like you see with the AR-15, each AR-10-style rifle maker re-invents the wheel a few times over... |
| I would also guess that the AR15/M16 design is more or less free for use, due to it's use by the military and there (the military) need to be able to source product from multiple vendors at a moments notice, whereas the AR10 type designs are jealously gaurded by thier patent holders. |
