If this can be pulled off (and there's nothing stopping us other than developing it) it will result in the transformation of the planet and mankind. Getting stuff to geo-sync for a fraction of what it costs today and then being able to get out of our gravity well with just a fraction of the energy needed from the surface (not to mention being able to do away with having to design a spacecraft to exit the atmosphere) will make the solar system truly accessible. |
