Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Shall be forever mine.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

Damn I will miss you President Reagan.

I am leaving in a couple of minutes to see the horse drawn caisson on Constitution Ave.
It will be hot and it will be crowded but I can't think of anyplace else I'd rather be!

I'm listening to my Royal Highlanders pipe and drum band CD right now. I just love the pipes and nothing plays Amazing Grace better. If things weren't so busy around here, I'd be waiting in line in D.C. right now.  Ronald Wilson Reagan truely was a Statesman, to call him a politician lessons his legacy.

We will miss you Dutch

I am finding this time tougher than I thought it would be ... even though he has been "gone" for a while.

Ive heard his son(Michael?) speak of him on chrisitan talk radio. He said he would hug his dad and he seemed to really know what that meant and who he was during the hugs, even though he didnt know his son otherwise, due to the alzhiemers. When he started to leave one day from visiting, his wife said to him "you forgot something", Michael looked back, and the greatest leader the world has ever known was standing at the door in pajamas with his arms open, wanting a hug from his son. love knows few boundaries. greatness knows even fewer.

Seeing that 747 go down that run way gave me tears.  Sad because of the death of Reagan and so proud that I am an American.  Air Force 1 is the most majestic symbol of our country (and yes I know that it is only AF1 if a setting president is abord)

President Reagan taught me that is was okay to love my country.  I was only 14 when he was first elected.  It is because of my father and President Rewagan that I have the belkief system I have today.  This week has shown me just how much of an influence this man had I me.  Surprizingly I had no idea that he had this big of an effect on me.

I was 16 when he was elected. I think one of his speaches may have single handedly changed my life. I was headed the wrong way, when I heard him speak, I thought, hey, thats what I want to be...

I too, like sarge, am realizing what an affect he had on me ....

I was 5 in 1980....but started paying attention to politics. My first presidential vote was in vain, against clinton....
