The "When Bil and Hill die" thread got me thinking.

It seems some people here will extend gracious treatment to their memories partly because they seem to beleive their life is largely irrelevant when considering their death.

In other words, if that is true, then the thinking is we should extend them courtesy as they were ONLY our ideological opponents and on some level that supposes all ideologies are equal. (Of course, some will be gracious in Hitlery and Bubbas death simply because tehy beleive it to be the right thing to do)

Stated another way, evil ideologies do NOT make evil people, and all ideologies are equal.

So....

What do you beleive? Are all ideologies equal? Or do you feel you are morally superior( I don't use that in a bad sense) for the ideology you hold??

Do you think your beleif system contributes to some degree of morality in yourself, and that other opposing beleif systems are due to moral inferiority???

All ideologies are NOT equal.
If they were, the concept of banning guns would be just as valid and worthy of consideration as the concept of letting the people choose what guns they wanted for themselves.

To hone in, would that NOT then mean that wrong ideologies COULD make for bad people who don't deserve honor in their death?

I reckon so, even though your syntax sucks donkey dick.  Barring mental retardation, each person has the intelligence to see and recognize the truth.
By extension, that gives each person the duty to adhere to the truth.
By extension, each person has the responsibility to base their belief system upon truth.
By deliberately choosing an ideology which is not grounded in truth, the person fails to uphold his duty/responsibility.  By deliberately holding on to an ideology that the person chose in good faith, but was later shown to be false, the person betrays himself and his own intelligence.

Does that mean you agree?

But of course.  Rand does not get enough credit for her thoughts on objectivism.

Yes, but some are more equal than others.
