Hello, I have a chance to get an amazing gun from another country. It was made before 1993 and its full auto. However, I can get it made into Semi-Auto if needed. Is there ANYWAY I can get this gun imported to me here in the USA? |
Hey thanks. I looked on BATF's site. But couldn’t find anything like this. Any other ideas of where in the BATF to look? |
| depends on the gun, if it considered militray equiptment, good luck, the BATF is pretty anal about what they allow to be imported. Why is the 1993 date mentioned? AW didn't happen until 94, however if it an AW then I strongly doubt they would approve it, if it is a full auto, then it won't be allowed in, regardless if it can be converted to semi auto, you know that phrase the BATFE likes to use about machineguns |

A rifle? Since the 89 import ban is in effect, it would have to not be on that list. It would also have to conform to the AWB, and have the requisite US parts count. That's how I understand the laws, anyway. It's not when a foreign weapon was manufactured, it was when it was imported that's important... Otherwise, you can bet there'd be scores of pre-86 MG's being imported
