I used to have v6 (something) and was able to do te normal PGP stuff with Windows 98.. Then I got a new computer and it has XP on it..Had to upgrade to v8 because all other versions of PGP are incompatible with XP...

Here's my problem..I was told v8 has a couple back doors in it that can be opened by people you who you wanted to keep out in the 1st place....

Anyone else know anything about it?

Total rumor with no basis in fact.

As long as Zimmerman still works for PGP, it will never have backdoors.  PGP is his baby.

He still works for them as an advisor and consultant.

As long as he's there, PGP will be safe.
