I have the luxury of just purchasing the infamous Colt LE6920. It came to me new in the sealed box. I also have an older Bushmaster. I purchased the Colt due to the many threads saying Colt is so much better than Bushmaster. Well here are my observations: The upper on my NIB Colt is the Diemaco and everything else is Colt. The Delta ring has several marks in the finish, the pin on the backside of the magazine release was put in with a punch that was larger than the hole, creating a nice shiny unfinished divot on the black finish on the receiver. On the bottom of the upper near the ejection port there is another spot that is bare metal from bumping into something. The flash hider was also not properly torqued down. The solid part was at about 4 o'clock looking from the business end On the other hand, my Bushmaster came to me NIB and there was not any imperfections at all except for the butt stock ring. That had a small scrape on it. Other than that the finish on this gun with 500 rds through it is better than the NIB Colt. I guess I either had some gorilla build this at Colt or a disgruntled Union Employee!!! I still am a Colt man because they have been building them for a long time. Just my 2 cents |

I don't have much experience with Colt ARs, but I had a buddy who got one when I got my Bushy. We shot alongside each other in local Highpower competitions. My Bushy's lower was slightly purple under some light conditions, but my friend's Colt was VERY purple. Other than that, I didn't see any issues with either. I don't like the Colt large pins & sear block, but I do like the 1 in 7 twist barrel option. |
unless it's a show piece or a safe queen....so what about the scratches...sheesh it's a BATTLE RIFLE !!!. spray paint it cammo and go kill a commie for crying out loud now if it were going to be a wood furniture type rifle from WWII that's another story...those have grace and elegance untouched by the plastic and aluminum AR15RELAX AND GO BLAST OFF A FEW THOUSAND ROUNDS AND BE HAPPY THAT IT'S PROBABLY GOING TO SAVE YOUR LIFE SOMEDAY SOON. have a nice day |

I don't have any experience with the newer Colts but my two prebans are top quality. One is a green label govt model, the other a blue label govt carbine and both have the best fit, finish and function of any AR I have owned. I have a preban Bushy and have had a few postban bushys and they have been outstanding as well, no function problems but the fit and finish were not up to the Colts. As for new rifles today, I would go Bushmaster all the way. |

I found Colt a little more reliable/accurate than Bushmaster. But I objectively think that Diemco is the best. Too bad our own government doesn't allow Diemco to sell us, the Canuck civies. Anyways, I am happy with any black rifle that works and whose manufacturer offers good customer service. I have LE6920, DAP-601 (Dlask) and SIG Black Special. When I was buying my AR, I did consider Bushy but decided to go with Colt despite of BM's lower price. |

Geez, A guy makes an homest typo and everybody jumps down my neck. I was just trying to give you guys an honest report on observations I have seen beings I DO have them both. Just goes to show the mentality of the typical 18 yr old who hangs on this board. All I was saying is Colt isn't as great as everyone makes them out to be. The Bushmaster finish is allot better than the Colt's. But I suppose if your 18 yrs old and can't join the Army for various reasons you might as well do the next best thing and buy an AR-15, some Desert BDU's, and post pictures of yourself on this website! GEEZ!! |
No Bushmaster is pushing quality firearms, reasonable prices, standardized parts, customer choice, great customer service, they treat their customers like adults, and they support the 2nd Amendment. In other words all the things Colt does not do… |
Yo...homie I was messing with you I understand it was " [quote ]an HOMEST typo
|
You colt snobs are all the same. You keep saying colt is the best and everything else is just a copy. You're living in the past, man. Wake up and smell the future. Colt firearms are better than colt firearms ever were! |
No sir. An AR17 is a shotgun. |

now if it were going to be a wood furniture type rifle from WWII that's another story...those have grace and elegance untouched by the plastic and aluminum AR15
