Masaa'il (Laws & Rules) pertaining to Zakaat - Zakaat is essential and compulsory for one who possesses 612 grams of silver or about 88 grams of gold and one year has Passed over it and remains with him unused or consumed. If the quantity is less than this, then Zakaat will not be compulsory. Withholdin Zakaat - Consequences in the Hereafter - And those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend it in the way of Allah, give them tidings of a painful punishment. On that day it (i.e. the wealth) will be heated in the fire of Jahannam, then their foreheads and their flanks and their backs will be branded therewith and (it will be said to them): Here is (the treasure) which you hoarded for yourselves. Now taste that which you had been hoarding." (9:34-35) Zakaat On Produce Of Land - If anyone inherits such Ushree land from his ancestors or purchases it from a Muslim who held it as Ushree, then Zakaat is essential on whatever is produced in the land. Who Is Entitled To Receive Zakaat? - One who does not possess so much of wealth or has very little even to be sufficient for one day, he is called a poor. Paying to and receiving by such persons of Zakaatt money is in order and permissible. Sadqa-e-Fitr - Any Muslim who has so much that Zakaat is due on him or on whom Zakaat is not essential but has goods more than his need on whose value Zakaat could be due, whether the property is for trade or not and whether a year has passed on it or not, it is essential for him to give Sadqah on Eid day and this charity is called Sadqa-e-Fitr. I noted the same thing. I can talk all day of charitable giving, but without acting on it, it isn't worth the air I wasted talking about it. Then again, I have read about drives to raise funds for the Palistinians - Maybe through the Islamic Directory. I guess that charity consists of sending funds for the Palistinians to buy explosives to strap to their children.... |

I wonder how many countries are worse off because of Christian Missionaries, sure they might not have food, or potable water, or antibiotics to stave off the infections, but by gosh and golly they have thier bible to make it through those tough nights. |
Still don't see any buildings... And why don't Muslims do this in the USA?? I can easily think of 4 hospitals in my town that are run by Christian organizations. |

Come to think of it, theres a lot you never see...a muslim NASCAR driver, olympic swimmer or interior decorator. If they have child molestation problems in the Mosques, it sure is kept quiet. Do Muslims even have porn of their own, besides what they just sell? Thought provoking.

Actually I do, I am not saying that there are groups out there that don't do wonderful things, Mother Theresa is a good example. But with the good come the bad. Some misguided sould thinking that all they need is the word of God, when in acutality these people need help. lots of help. |

Misguided is right, for if they truly understood the Word of God, they'd know that the HELP is what He wants them to give, and in so doing, illustrates the Message that IS the Gospel of Jesus. And for the record, 99.9% of Christian Missionaries give aid in the form of shelter, food, medical care etc... First, as a witness to the Love of God to those they are charged to bring the Word to. I don't recall any Methodist or Baptist missionaries blowing up the Villagers or lopping off their heads with a pocketknife or crashing the Cessna Bush Plane into the Village Chief's hut because they didn't accept the message, though. In fact, most of them go right on caring for and helping...REGARDLESS of their acceptance of or rejecton of Christianity. Frankly, there's quite a stark contrast in what the two Gods admonish their follwers to do, huh? "Love thine enemy, Turn the other Cheek, The Greatest of these is Love " or " Hey, Achmed, Go Lop that guy's head off with a Carving Knife, He's an Infidel". Hmmmm... Seems to me the "Religion of Peace" (TM, 2004, Hezbollah) only cares about , ahem, "helping" it's own. Yes you did, and I thank you. Unfortunitely none of those links showed actuall hospitals or other type of scoial buildings. The only links you gave me showed money leaving the country to help other Muslims. My local church sends money abroad a little, but mainly uses its money for the local community, including the hospital which anyone can go to. SGtar15 |
