No, but my dad used to make "dough devils" ...
deep fry some bread dough into a flat pancake shaped thing that ends up about a half inch thick. Then you spread butter on it and put some grape jelly or jam on it.

I tried using bread dough to make donuts and they turned out too chewy, but they were edible.
