Twice in as many days, I have clicked on a ebay link from here in the general section-one for the fake airsoft Aimpoint and today for the link on the auction for the Japanese Samuri Armor....both times, after viewing the auction, when I return to my homepage, which is AT&T Worldnet, I get redirected to a Hong Kong porn site.

Then my 'puter gets infected with a Trojan Worm virus.....it over-writes your Internet Options and changes your home page to the HK porn site and keep installing the virus....

I'm running the old Win '98 and I have etrust EZ Anti-Virus....it catches it, but then I have to delete my Temp Internet files and scan the system.....

Has anyone else had that happen...?

All I know is that both times I looked at the ebay links, and when I click on home on the tool bar, which was right after viewing them, my 'puter was infected....once, maybe, twice...no way

I spent a couple of hours on my boss's computer last week.  That stuff is a bitch to clean up.

You need to do a google search for a program named "Hijack This" - it's the only way to get rid of the problem you are experiencing.  Then, download and update Spybot S&D and after scanning and destroying immunize your computer against future infections.

[tinfoil hat on]My suggestion if you dont already. Get a good antivirus prog, get spybot and imunize your comp, use a firewall or router (I use Zone Alarm the free version) and install window washer. between these your problems should disappear

Youll be surprised how many tracking cookies will be found the first time you use spybot and the amount of unwanted cookies your system has after you run window washer.  I set mine up to run manually and do it once a week.[tinfoil hat off]

Yup.  Your end.  I suspect that it has nothing to do with the above referenced links.  You probably already have some spyware, or hijackware on your machine already.

Go to google, and search for "Adaware", and "Hijackthis".  Run them.  They should clean you up and you wont' have to worry about it anymore.  Oh, and get some decent virus scanning software, and a software firewall.
