I'm thinking about getting a Gunvault Instant Access Handgun Safe and was wondering if anyone else had any experiences with them? www.gunvault.com/minideluxe.asp A friend just got one recently and I was impressed with how it worked. I have a big safe (800lbs) for my rifles and pistols in the basement and a small safe (250lbs) in the bedroom but I want something with a bit quicker access time. I'm going to bolt it to the top of the safe I have in my bedroom. Are there any reasons not to get one? |

I have an older standard unit that I’m pretty happy with. My biggest complaint is that, for me at least, the batteries don’t seem to last very long. Plus, it’s eight AA batteries that are hard to get at. Also, the door springs open violently and loudly. However, you can easily cushion it with your hand to prevent this. Mine doesn’t have the interior courtesy light, and I’m not sure I’d want that feature anyway. |

I have a GunVault Double in my bedroom and a 1400 lb gun safe in my office. GunVault makes a great product. Just one word of advice, buy from www.Brownells.com and it will cost about half of what you'd pay retail from the manufacturer. Be sure to register as a gunsmith with Brownell's before you buy. |
I have had the handgun version for about 5 years now and am very happy with it. I would highly recommend at least taking a look at them. |
