we are looking at online forms tha can be dwonloaded and/or filled out online - is there a universal format that works on all computers?  RTF? Adobe? Word?  which is best for compatibility on all platforms.

almost everyone has Adobe..

But It seems that it is used more if you < the end user> need to actaully print it out ...

example... ATF and INS forms are in PDF form ..

wanna see some PDF files that are "fill in the blank" type..

go to Titleii.com and look at the "Form 1" < simple example> ...

but people need to fill those out  AND download for printinf ...

if you need to simply collect data ..  I dont think thats the best way to go...

OK- what they are looking for is a form(our job application) that can be downloaded and filled out and preferrably emailed back-or printed while filled out and sent in.  It has to be compatible with everyone -mac, PC, whetever and preferrably not in a specific format like Word that not everyone has.

If it must be in a specific format like Word, which version should it be created in?  97, 2000, xp, 2003?

cant guide you in where to go .. but I can in where NOT to go...

worked on a documnet at work using word xp office pro edition..  emailed it to someone.. they had word 97 and it looked like total junk  so that is one option you can rule out...
