I'm expanding my small shop (garage) to try some new stuff.  I'm going to build a dresser this summer for my daughter and wanted to use dovetails for the drawers.  What's a good dovetail jig?  Are they all pretty much the same, aside from price?  I saw several on Ebay:  Craftsman, Porter Cable, no names.  Will they all do the same job?  How big should I buy?  Will a 12" long and up to 1.25" thick work for me?

I wouldn't get the craftsman. I've seen norm abrahms has apparently used the porter cable on his show, but I don't recall that episode.

The problem with the craftsman is that your spacing is going to be sort of boring. Plus the craftsman reputation for power tools has been turning to 'crapsman' since everything has gone to the lowest cost company to do the brand work. The hand tools might be the exception, since they still carry a lifetime warranty, but I'd be wary of buying something without that warranty.

Porter cable has a good reputuation in general, so if your choice is between craftsman, PC, or some no names, get the PC.
